1 Cairo Conspiracy (Boy from Heaven)

Cairo Conspiracy is a political thriller film by Tarik Saleh. The film follows Adam, the son of a fisherman, who is offered the privilege to study at the Al-Azhar University in Cairo, the center of power of Sunni Islam. Soon after he arrives, however, Adam becomes a pawn in the conflict between Egypt’s religious and political elites.

Starring Tawfeek Barhom as Adam, Fares Fares as Ibrahim, Mohammad Bakri as General Al Sakran, Makram Khoury as Sheikh Negm, Mehdi Dehbi as Zizo, Moe Ayoub as Sobhy, Sherwan Haji as Soliman, and Abduljabbar Alsuhili as Alasfour.

2. M3GAN

M3GAN is directed by Gerard Johnstone from a screenplay by Akela Cooper. The plot is written by Cooper and James Wan. In the film, M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a lifelike doll that’s programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally. Designed by Gemma, a brilliant roboticist, M3GAN can listen, watch and learn as it plays the role of friend and teacher, playmate, and protector. When Gemma becomes the unexpected caretaker of her 8-year-old niece, she decides to give the girl an M3GAN prototype, a decision that leads to unimaginable consequences.

3. Women Talking

Women Talking is based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Miriam Toews, and inspired by real-life events that occurred at the Manitoba Colony in Bolivia. The film is directed by Sarah Polley. The plot follows, “In 2010, eight women from an isolated Mennonite colony grapple with reconciling their reality with their faith after it is revealed that men from their community drugged and raped the community’s women at night for years.”

The film stars Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley, Judith Ivey, Ben Whishaw, and Frances McDormand.

4. Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre

Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre is a spy action thriller by Guy Ritchie. The film follows, Elite spy Orson Fortune must track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology wielded by billionaire arms broker Greg Simmonds. Reluctantly teamed up with some of the world’s best operatives, Fortune and his crew recruit Hollywood’s biggest movie star, Danny Francesco, to help them on their globe-trotting mission to save the world.

The film stars Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza, Josh Hartnett, Cary Elwes, Bugzy Malone, and Hugh Grant.

5. A Man Called Otto

A Man Called Otto is the second film adaptation of Fredrik Backman’s 2012 novel A Man Called Ove, following Hannes Holm’s 2015 Swedish film of the same name. The film is directed by Hannes Holm. The plot follows, When a lively young family moves in next door, grumpy widower Otto Anderson meets his match in a quick-witted, pregnant woman named Marisol, leading to an unlikely friendship that turns his world upside down.

The film star Tom Hanks in the titular role, with Mariana Treviño, Rachel Keller, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.

6. Plane

Plane is directed by Jean-François Richet. The plot follows, Pilot Brodie Torrance saving passengers from a lightning strike by making a risky landing on a war-torn island — only to find that surviving the landing was just the beginning. When dangerous rebels take most of the passengers’ hostage, the only person Torrance can count on for help is Louis Gaspare, an accused murderer who was being transported by the FBI.

The film stars Gerard Butler, Mike Colter, Yoson An, and Tony Goldwyn.

7. Missing

Missing is directed by Nick Johnson and Will Merrick. The film is based on a story by Sev Ohanian and Aneesh Chaganty. It is a standalone sequel to the 2018 film Searching. The plot follows, When her mother disappears while on vacation in Colombia with her new boyfriend, June’s search for answers is hindered by international red tape. Stuck thousands of miles away in Los Angeles, June creatively uses all the latest technology at her fingertips to try and find her before it’s too late. However, as she digs ever deeper, her digital sleuthing soon raises more questions than answers.

The film stars Storm Reid, Joaquim de Almeida, Ken Leung, Amy Landecker, Daniel Henney, and Nia Long.

8. Alice, Darling

Alice, Darling is directed by Mary Nighy. The plot follows, Pushed to the breaking point by Simon, her psychologically abusive boyfriend, Alice rediscovers the essence of herself and gains some much-needed perspective while on vacation with two close girlfriends. However, Simon’s vengeance is as inevitable as it is shattering, and once unleashed, it tests her strength, her courage, and the bonds of deep-rooted friendships.

The film stars Anna Kendrick as Alice, Kaniehtiio Horn as Tess, Charlie Carrick as Simon, Wunmi Mosaku as Sophie, and Mark Winnick as Marcus.
