The third film in Ti West’s ‘X’ trilogy is in the works, with Mia Goth set to return. it will be titled ‘MaXXXine’ and follows Maxine (Mia Goth) who continues her journey towards fame, setting out to make it as an actress in 1980s Los Angeles. The official news was confirmed by Ti West during the Midnight Madness premiere of Pearl along with a teaser at the end of the film. Watch the teaser on Deadline.

The film will have a returing cast Mia Goth, reprise her role previously played in X. ‘MaXXXine’ is aquired by A24 and the greenlit for filming will start soon. The plot follows, Maxine (Goth), after the events of X, as the sole survivor who continues her journey towards fame setting out to make it as an actress in 1980’s Los Angeles. It all stems from X, which launched Goth as the survivor of a porn shoot that goes awry when their hosts in rural Texas see what they are doing and the cast and crew ends up fighting for their lives.

Mia Goth is best known for her roles in The Survivalist (2015), A Cure for Wellness (2016). In 2018, Goth had supporting roles in Claire Denis’s sci-fi mystery film High Life and Luca Guadagnino’s remake of Suspiria. She later appeared in the period romantic comedy Emma (2020) and starred in the horror film X (2022).

Pearl will hit theaters on September 16, 2022. The film is an prequel to grisly events of X. Goth returns as the future psycho Pearl, here a starry-eyed farm girl with a short fuse and a deadly ambition on her way to becoming a memorable murderess.
