The Old Luxters Barn is licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies and can accommodate from 40-114 seated guests for the wedding ceremony nuptials and wedding breakfast and a further 50 guests for evening wedding celebrations.
The team at Luxters Barn have created a venue that makes full use of their barn, courtyard, lawn and marquee, allowing guests to really soak up everything this beautiful wedding venue in an area of outstanding natural beauty, has to offer. If you’ve always fancied an outdoor ceremony, you may choose to have a wedding blessing in Old Luxters Barn’s very own vineyard. When I shoot wedding photography at Old Luxters Barn I love taking my couples to the vineyard at sunset to get some romantic portrait images of them with the low sun shining through the vines.
If you want a traditional wedding there are lots of churches in nearby villages that the wedding team at Old Luxters Barn can put you in touch with.
Every wedding is given exclusive use and the barn offers great flexibility allowing couples to really stamp their personalities onto their wedding day. The wedding team give couples free reign to customise the barn to suit their weddings style and with a reception hall, a bar area, a raised gallery with a DJ console, you have everything you need to create your dream wedding. This makes Old Luxters Barn the perfect venue for creatives.
After the wedding ceremony, you can enjoy a drinks and canapes reception in the courtyard, in a marquee or in the vineyard garden. As guests happily drink and mingle, I always take my chance to quickly get some gorgeous images of my couples in the gardens, grounds and vineyard.
After your drinks reception your guests will be led into the main barn for the wedding breakfast. This is always a lovely moment as guests get their first glimpse of the barn’s beautiful oak beams adorned with fairy lights and the tables all exquisitely dressed ready for the wedding meal.
Storytelling wedding photography at Old Luxters Barn
Talking of food, Old Luxters Barn have their own exclusive in-house culinary team who have developed a range of different exciting menu options to suite all tastes. They are happy to accommodate any themes or requests and there is an option for you to work with them to create your own bespoke wedding menu.
After the wedding breakfast guests are led out to the marquee where you can choose to have your cake cut and tea and coffee served. This is also a great time to offer fun cocktails, maybe an ice cream cart for younger guests, and a gin and tonic cart for older ones! And perhaps some lawn games.
As an experienced Oxfordshire wedding photographer, I have to say that this time of day at weddings is the best time to get natural candid images of guests. As everybody has really relaxed into the day.
As guests relax outside the barn is transformed into a party space ready for the evening. Old Luxters Barn wedding package includes a DJ for 3 hours, and you can also hire a live band. The package includes licenses for music and bar until 12am, though they also have a (much envied by other Oxfordshire wedding venues) 2am license if you and your guests are really up for a party!

The only onsite accommodation at Old Luxters Barn is Old Luxters Farmhouse. This traditional brick and flint house enjoys breath-taking views over the garden, vineyard and Hambledon valley beyond. It sleeps 10 people so is ideal for accommodating your wedding party. It has 4 double en-suite rooms and sleeps a further 2 people on a sofa bed downstairs.
