Music executive, Don Jazzy has replied to a Ghanaian show host who quoted his post about how Davido is aggressively promoting his new album, Timeless.

The Mavin Records boss had taken to his social media handles to advise up-and-coming musicians to promote their music projects using Davido as a case study.

Davido who is currently one of the biggest Nigerian Afrobeat singers has not relented in using every opportunity to promote his 4th studio album, Timeless.

Don Jazzy earlier advised that artists should emulate the energy in Davido’s strategy as doing so does not diminish them in any way.

In a Twitter post a few days ago, he wrote(Screenshot below):

Dear artists hope you can see how Davido is marketing his album. He didn’t form oh I’m OBO so everybody will cop my shit. Marketting your beautiful project that you worked hard on does not reduce your swag.

He further went on to say that promoting an album shouldn’t have to be too expensive. Citing one of Davido’s dance videos, he mentioned that such a video is simple yet priceless, he wrote(screenshot below):

If you have money for music video, pls shoot video. But you see this video right here, it’s free of charge but priceless. If you know you know.

Reacting to this epic advice, a Ghanaian show host opined that Nigerian entertainment is far better than that of Ghana simply because of the various elements of truth in Don Jazzy’s statement.

He claimed that there is no competition whatsoever when the various artists from the two parts of Africa are compared.

Don Jazzy then replied to him in a tweet saying that his message was merely to educate and motivate younger artists in Nigeria and even Ghana too. Stating that it is not really about the competition.

He wrote:

Not really about the competition for now bro. I hope the message educates and motivates my Ghanian brothers too. We can all do better.
