Industrial Air Compressor

Industrial Air Compressor is a device that is used to increase the pressure and temperature of air and in some cases fluid at the expense of work energy supplied. It is driven by a Motor, IC engine, or Gas turbine. An Air compressor is a device that converts power using an electric motor, diesel, or gasoline engine, etc.

Air compressors can be divided into two general categories.

Positive Displacement Compressors
Dynamic Displacement Air Compressors.

Positive Displacement Compressors:

A positive displacement Air compressor works by trapping a certain amount of gas and forcing it into a smaller volume. A common type of Positive displacement Compressor is a Reciprocating or Piston Air compressor.

There are two main parts of a Reciprocating Air compressor.

Cylinder and
Piston

In this compressor, gas enters the cylinder and is trapped inside the cylinder. Then the gas is forced into a smaller space by the action of a piston. Forcing the gas into a smaller space increases the pressure of a gas and then the compressed gas is discharged.

Rotary or Screw Air Compressor
Reciprocating or Piston Air Compressor

Dynamic Displacement Air Compressors:

Centrifugal Air compressor works differently, it uses a device called an Impeller to spin the gas around which accelerates or increases the speed of the gas flow. The acceleration gives the gas Energy. As the gas stream flows out of an impeller, it spreads out and slows down. As the gas slows down its energy is converted into pressure energy.

Axial Air Compressor

We have all the Industrial Air Compressor Solutions for you. Kortex Automation brings you different types of Industrial Air Compressors according to your requirement.

Reciprocating or Piston Air Compressor:

As the name indicates, it is called a Reciprocating Air Compressor because there is a piston inside the Air compressor cylinder which reciprocates vertically and compresses or entrapped the inside the storage tank of the compressor. In a way, reciprocating air compressors are like Automobile engines. The pistons are directly driven through the wrist pin and connecting rod from the crankshaft. Depending on their size, Reciprocating Air compressors may have one or more cylinders. Here, multiple cylinders may be arranged in a line. In every Reciprocating Air compressor, there is a Suction Valve and Discharge Valve. These valves give the compressor the ability to compress the air against the pressure difference.

Rotary Screw Air Compressors:

It’s called a Screw Air compressor because its principle is based on Screw and it’s a positive displacement type compressor because it gives us constant flow at constant pressure. There is an air-type casing provided on the driving and driven member. The moment the driving member starts rotating, the suction valve opens up, and the filtered air enters inside the compressor. These air compressors are designed for Pulsation free air delivery and continuous duty. As compare to Reciprocating Piston Air Compressor, it requires low starting torque as the moving parts have less mass in the Rotary Air compressor. Kortex Automation manages to customize an Air compressor according to your requirement.

Oil-Free & Dental Air Compressors:

It is known as an oil-free air compressor because it doesn’t require oil to operate. It is also called Oil-less air compressor. This compressor doesn’t need oil to manage heat; it gets cooled by atmospheric air. When the compressor is in running condition, it starts bringing atmospheric air inside through the unloader valve and passes this air through an air filter just to ensure that the air is clean. When the compressor is running and delivering compressed air, it will not be able to draw more air. A Dental Air compressor is also a part of an oil-free air compressor. Dental Air compressor is mostly used by dentists in their clinic. Kortex Automation has different oil-free air compressors for different applications.

Applications of Air Compressor:

Air compressor is mostly used in Construction, Manufacturing, Agriculture, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Spray Painting, Energy Sector, Pressure Washing, Inflating, Scuba diving etc. The main purpose of Air Compressor is to circulate the refrigerant in the system under pressure.

Kortex Automation has different types of Industrial Air compressor for you according to your applications. We are the leading manufacturers and suppliers of all types of Industrial Air compressors and other industrial products.
