Our Adventures On Urth Is Coming To An End

Our adventures on Urth, the collective name for every part of the world of Dreamland, where we have had all of our misadventures with Bean, Elfo and Luci in Disenchantment, is unfortunately ending. After four pretty successful seasons, it was decided that Disenchantment is ending, and here is everything you need to know.

Suppose you last kept up with Disenchantment when it emerged on Netflix in 2018. In that case, it is one of Netflix’s longest-running original adult animation series that tells the story of Princess Tiabeanie (nicknamed Bean) in her kingdom of Dreamland, where she lives with her father.

Her fun-loving and free-spirited life is shattered when she is told about an arranged marriage to Prince Merkimer and marriage and anything to do with her royal responsibilities, so naturally, she absconds and goes on her own adventures throughout the realm with a demon that she meets named Luci, and an elf who is unoriginally named Elfo.

Suppose the visuals or the comedy seem at all familiar to you. In that case, it could be because of the incredible creators that are a part of this series, like Matt Groening and Josh Weinstein, who are responsible for creating, writing and developing the show and simply writing and developing it. These names might feel familiar thanks to beloved shows like The Simpsons and Futurama.

The star-studded cast includes voice actors and comedians from around the world, such as Abbi Jacobson as Bean, Billy West as Sorcerio, David Herman as The Herald, Eric André as Luci, Jeny Batten as Kissy the Elf, John DiMaggio King Zøg, Lauren Tom as Trixy, Lucy Montgomery as Bunty, Matty Berry as Prince Merkimer, Maurice LaMarche as Odval, Meredith Hagner as Mora, Nat Faxon as Elfo, Noel Fielding as Stan the Executioner, Phil LaMarr as God, Rich Fulcher as Turbish, Richard Ayoade as Alva Gunderson, Sharon Horgan as Queen Dagmar, and Tress MacNeille as Queen Oona.

Disenchantment: Part 5 was first released on the 1st of September, 2023 and somehow made it onto Netflix’s Top 10 in just two days, making it to the tenth place on the list for the 28th of August to the 3rd of September. Sitting with 1.4 million views on the 3rd, it will be interesting to see if Disenchantment maintains being on the Top 10 or if it manages to move up.

Netflix announced on the 1st of August that the 5th season will be its last for Disenchantment, making the series Netflix’s third most extended original adult animation, topping off with 50 episodes in total, bested by Big Mouth with 61 episodes and Bojack Horseman with 77 episodes in total.

If you are a particular brand of nerd like me, now is the perfect time to get involved with Disenchantment and maybe even start the series from the beginning because Netflix Tudum has released a map-style placemat developed by Disenchantment’s creative director, Serban Cristescu, who has been working on the map since the commencement of the series. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get this puppy and use it to follow Bean in all her misadventures.

Are you sad that our adventures on Urth in Disenchantment are coming to an end?
