BossLogic Artwork Casts Henry Cavill as a Targaryen

On the 24th of August, BossLogic posted a stunning fan poster/artwork that casts Henry Cavill into the role of a Targaryen in the new House of the Dragon show which is taking HBO fans by storm.

And honestly, is there a role that the man wouldn’t be perfect for?

Fan Casting for Robert Baratheon

With his naturally dark hair, strong build and burly chest, it makes sense that he would be cast into the family line of either the Baratheons or the Starks. Casting suggestions for The Witcher actor to be cast as a young version of Kind Robert Baratheon, the usurper, can be traced as far back as 2016 on Reddit alone.

And from some of the images of him in armour with a full dark beard, it’s hard to argue with the fact that he would make a good Robert Baratheon.

Fan Casting for Rhaegar Targaryen

Although all fans may not agree with this one, as soon as Henry Cavill could be seen in costume for Geralt of Rivia for The Witcher with his iconic white hair, the tune was quickly changed from Robert Baratheon to another Game of Thrones character, Rhaegar Targaryen.

Knowing the story of GoT, fans were quick to disagree with this one, saying that the actor was far too great of a man to stoop to the depths of personality that Rhaegar is capable of, but it’s agreeable that the star looks good with white hair in a fantasy setting.

While the thought to not be a good fit for the cowardly Rhaegar Targaryen, there is no denying that Henry Cavill looks great in the poster standing over a dragon. If he were to be cast as a much stronger-willed Targaryen than the previous suggestion, the star would no doubt be super for fitting into a fantasy role.

Rise to Popularity

The Man of Steel actor has been seen in films long before his DCEU debut in 2013 in movies like Vendetta as far back as 2001, The Count of Monte Christo in 2002, Red Riding Hood in 2006, Stardust in 2007, The Tudors from 2007 to 2010, and Immortals in 2001, all before his entrance as Kal-El in the iconic movie. Since then, his career has skyrocketed, and the handsome star has been fan-cast in every role imaginable as fans are dying to see more of him.

There is a website that allows fans to suggest their favourite castings for their favourite actors called myCast, and according to their Top Casting Suggestions, Henry Cavill has been suggested to play more than 11,000 roles, including James Bond, Prince Eric from My Little Mermaid, Chris Redfield from the Resident Evil franchise, Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, Jonathan Joestar from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures, and many, many more.

It is incredibly interesting to see how many times the actor has been suggested for roles in Game of Thrones, and now also for House of the Dragon.

What House of Dragon character or which Targaryen would you love to see Henry Cavill cast as?
