In a shocking turn of events, renowned Indian actress Gayatri Joshi, best known for her role in the critically acclaimed Bollywood movie “Swades,” and her husband, businessman Vikas Oberoi, have miraculously survived a harrowing car accident in Italy. The accident tragically claimed the lives of an Elderly Swiss Couple.

The incident unfolded in Sardinia, Italy, where Gayatri Joshi and Vikas Oberoi were vacationing. They were part of a multiple-vehicle collision that led to a devastating outcome. According to reports, a high-end Ferrari, in which the elderly Swiss couple was traveling, was engulfed in flames during the collision, resulting in their unfortunate demise.

Gayatri Joshi, speaking to the Free Press Journal, confirmed that she and her husband emerged from the accident unscathed. She expressed gratitude for their well-being, stating, “Vikas and I are in Italy. We met with an accident here… With God’s grace, we both are absolutely fine.”

The incident occurred when a Lamborghini and the ill-fated Ferrari attempted to overtake a camper van simultaneously, leading to the Ferrari catching fire and the camper van overturning. The collision unfolded during the Sardinia Supercar Tour, an event where luxury cars parade from Teulada to Olbia. Disturbing footage of the accident was reportedly shared online shortly after the incident.

Gayatri Joshi, a former Femina Miss India International winner, made her Bollywood acting debut in the 2004 film “Swades,” where she starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan as Geeta. Despite receiving critical acclaim and numerous awards for her debut, Gayatri chose to step away from the film industry. Although she has mostly stayed out of the limelight, Gayatri has occasionally been spotted in Mumbai. In a notable incident from 2019, she made headlines for falling victim to a credit card fraud where she lost a substantial sum of money due to alleged card cloning. Authorities investigated the matter, with a police officer commenting, “Prima facie, it seems to be a case of card cloning. The complainant has claimed that someone stole her card details and duplicated it later to withdraw money.”
