Early Life And Education

The new-age entrepreneur Aman Gupta was born and raised in Delhi, India. His father’s name is Neeraj Gupta, and his mother is Jyoti Kochhar Gupta. Aman completed his education at the Delhi Public School and pursued his B.Com from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, under Delhi University 1998.

Aman got himself enrolled in CA under ICAI. But he lost interest in that program and left it. Aman started his career as an assistant manager at the CitiBank. But, unsatisfied, Aman left the job at Citibank and started a company called Advanced Telemedia Pvt Ltd with his father in 2005.

This was one of my earliest attempts at entrepreneurship and starting a business. But the business was struggling so was Aman. So, his wife advised him to take an MBA course.

So, in the year 2010, Aman got himself enrolled for an MBA at the Indian School of Business. He completed his MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management as an exchange student in Finance and Strategy.

Later, in 2011, he started working as a sales personnel in the Strategy Service Group of KPMG. While working as a senior consultant in management, Aman Gupta also gained his MBA.

Entrepreneurial Achievement

Before starting his business that would become the biggest headphones and wearable electronic gadget seller, Aman worked in companies such as Harman Kardon, JBL, and others. As a salesperson in these brands, he greatly understood how sales in the electronic industry work.

Aman Gupta’s BoAt Sets Sail

After working with different companies for so long, Aman longed to do something of his own, hence the decision to launch BoAt. In 2016, Aman Gupta co-founded BoAt with Samir Mehta, one of the billionaire businessmen of India.

The company started manufacturing headphones, stereo speakers, and similar electronic equipment. Only a year of running the business took BoAt from the shore to the middle of the ocean of market, helping Aman make 100 crores rupees in sales.

One of the first successful products BoAt sold was the Apple phone charger and the charging cables.

People were buying these products like crazy. That year, the Apple charger by BoAt was the most-sold product on Amazon.

But the best year for Aman Gupta and BoAt was yet to come. In 2019, it became a leading business in the earwear electronic industry. The BoAt headphones were selling like freshly fried Pakora on different eCommerce platforms and offline stores in India; this got him recognized as the year’s entrepreneur in 2019 in the CD (consumer durables) category.

The BoAt has sold close to 20 million products until now. Even with this massive success, Aman is nowhere close to being done. He is still working as the CMO of BoAt and trying to ensure that his company stays at the top with the best products. They are focusing on creating more stylish and top-notch-quality electronic wearables.

Thanks to Aman’s vision and the passion of Samir Mehta, BoAt has become the fifth-largest wearable brand in the world. The BoAt also has cricketers like Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, and actress Jaqueline Fernandez serving as their brand ambassadors. Aman Gupta and Samir Mehta have skyrocketed the company within five years and amassed a massive net worth of 300 crores.

Personal Life

Aman has a brother named Amol Gupta and a sister named Neha Gupta. In 2008, he tied the knot with Priya Dagar. The couple was bleed with two daughters named Aada and Mia Gupta. When he is not building the BoAt or judging on Shark Tank, Aman loves reading, traveling, and listening to music. He owns a luxurious two-floor Bungalow in Delhi and two luxurious BMW (BMW X1 and BMW 7 series) cars.
