LE SSERAFIM recently stumbled on accusations of plagiarism against singer Rosalia, including their comeback song 'UNFORGIVEN'. Kim Chaewon denies accusations of plagiarism, netizens increasingly criticize the agency.

LE SSERAFIM has officially made a comeback with its first full length album titled "UNFORGIVEN". Hit by the issue of plagiarism against Spanish singer Rosalia, Kim Chaewon's rebuttal made Korean netizens criticize the agency even more.

On Monday (1/5), LE SSERAFIM held a comeback showcase where they not only performed new songs but also answered journalists' questions. Questions about accusations of plagiarism were inevitable during the event.

As is known, recently there has been an assumption that LE SSERAFIM has many similarities in terms of musicality and visuals of the MV with Rosalia. This assumption later developed into accusations by LE SSERAFIM of plagiarizing Rosalia's work.

Responding to journalists' questions, Chaewon as the leader gave a calm answer. Although many considered the question to be rude and presumptuous towards a group that had just made a comeback.

"LE SSERAFIM's song and concept contains our story and message, so I would appreciate it if you could see it as our signature creation," Chaewon explained.

In response to Chaewon's answer, netizens grew furious at Source Music and HYBE. They think that the agency and producers have the most to contribute to explaining LE SSERAFIM's position in this matter rather than the members. Thus, the members here are considered as sacrifices to protect the agency.

"No, why did the members answer this question? Wow, the agency is crazy…," said one netizen. "Composers and responsible people should come out and tell us about this," said another netizen.

"Crazy, the agency doesn't have the mindset to protect singers…? I wonder what the agency thinks about this controversy, but it seems they don't know…," added another.

"Why do they use their members as shields?? What is the agency doing?" commented by a netizen. "HYBE always hides behind singers," continued another netizen. "The members are the most pitiful," said another.

Meanwhile, "UNFORGIVEN" managed to debut at No. 5 Melon shortly after its release. The MV itself succeeded in occupying the 2nd position on YouTube Music less than 24 hours after its launch. LE SSERAFIM has sold at least 1.38 million copies during the pre-order period. (wk/inta)
