Super Junior's Heechul mocks Korean artists' weight standards

Super Junior's Heechul has openly revealed the reason why his weight has never reached the ideal figure since he officially debuted as an idol a dozen years ago.

Super Junior's Kim Heechul openly revealed about the dietary requirements of idols in order to look awesome in front of the camera. This was revealed by Heechul when he was a guest on the SBS love FM radio show "Ji Sang Ryul if Hot", he was known to be the second DJ yesterday, Wednesday (9/11).

Heechul revealed that he gained an almost ideal weight while promoting "Sorry Sorry" in 2009. However, he lost up to 9 kilograms in 2 weeks.

Heechul revealed that he is on a diet that only eats tofu. Heechul explained, "During our promotions for 'Sorry Sorry', I weighed around 68-69 kilograms. I then lost 9 kilograms in 2 weeks on the tofu diet.

The handsome idol born in 39 years according to international calculations admitted that it is now difficult to lose weight. Even so, actually Heechul's weight is still not ideal.

Heechul explained, "It's hard to lose weight these days. My height was 178 cm and 63 kilograms at the time of the medical examination, but recently at home, I weighed 67 kilograms.

Ji Sang Ryeol himself gave praise for Heechul's weight which is actually quite ideal at this time. However, Heechul actually revealed that having an ideal weight is not for celebrities.

"It looks good now," said Ji Sang Ryeol. "No, as a celebrity you can't look healthy. They have to look sick. That way they will look good on screen," explained Heechul.

Meanwhile, it's no secret that a celebrity is said to actually weigh much less than it appears on television. Heechul's current weight is known to be still not ideal for his height of 178 cm.

Heechul's ideal weight is around 70.2 kilograms when calculated using the broca formula created by Paul Broca in 1871. This means that he is still relatively thin. The way to find out the ideal weight for men is to calculate "[(height cm - 100)] - [(height cm - 100) x 10%]", while for women 10% is replaced by 15%. (wk/alpha)
