Shocking news came from the K-drama industry. Veteran actor Ahn Sung Ki revealed that he is currently battling cancer. Previously, Ahn Sung Ki attended the opening ceremony of a special exhibition for director Bae Chang Ho's 40th birthday on September 15, 2022 yesterday.

The senior actor was reportedly spotted wearing a wig during his appearance at the ceremony and he was also escorted by several people who supported him as he walked, raising concerns about his health condition.

In response to public concerns, Ahn Sung Ki has revealed in an interview with Korean news outlet Sports Chosun that he has been Battling Blood Cancer for over a year.

According to the actor, his condition recently improved after undergoing chemotherapy, which is why he was able to appear in public for the first time in a long time.

“I am currently battling blood cancer which has been going on for over a year. My health has recently improved a bit after receiving chemotherapy, so I can go out in public. If I take off my wig, my head is bald," said Ahn Sung Ki.

The actor also expressed his sadness last May because he was late for the funeral of the late actress Kang Soo Yeon because he was currently undergoing chemotherapy. However, Ahn Sung Ki admits that his current condition is getting better.

“Last May, I even had to be late at actress Kang Soo Yeon's funeral [because I was receiving chemotherapy]. Now, my health has improved a lot," he said.

Not wanting to add to his worries, on the sidelines of his interview, Ahn Sung Ki also looked cheerful, telling him that he couldn't attend the premiere of 'Hansan: Rising Dragon' due to his bald hair. Ahn Sung Ki said he will not be working on any projects for now and is focusing on his health.

"I can't [film anything] with my hair like this, but I will come back with better health," said Ahn Sung Ki.
