WALL THERAPY

Your home is your sanctuary, your home is your place of healing and reprieve.  There are very few places in this life where we will settle for good and call these places our home.  If you are anything like me, home is where your heart is happy, where your family resides and where you make many great memories.  There are many occasions where I have gone into people’s homes and think to myself “there’s no artwork”? In these places, I feel as though these houses have not yet transformed into the homes, they will one day become.

When I think of blank walls, I secretly cringe a little bit, not going to lie.  Life is much too short to live in a house without art gracing the walls to help you get the courage to go face the day! Afterall, your home is where you go to rest and to heal, this is all a larger part of what I like to call Wall Therapy.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind when my collectors see their new Fine Art Photographs up on their walls, their entire mindset shifts! I have seen it time and time again, where what was once an empty blank wall was then transformed into another world.  I have so many of my collectors tell me that before they leave their home, they simply walk through their galleries at home and breathe as a form of meditation and centering before they begin their day.  There is something that is truly transformative about the way we are able to change our environments and the way in which they make us feel as a result of it.

It is important to note that not all of us understand the art buying experience and many of you are first time Fine Art collectors.  However, learning new things is a normal progression in life and certainly nothing to be afraid of.  The best way to buy your first Fine Art Photograph is simply to go with what you like.  There are so many opinions out there from buying something as an investment, acquiring only original artworks, buying for popularity, only going in a certain direction for aesthetics and what is matchy, matchy and so on.  The truth of it all is really quite simple and you should stick to this, as were all born with it “our gut” what is it telling you?  Do you get a sense of elation when you look at a certain artwork, does it make you smile?  If you like it, there is a great starting point for the foundation of the correct decision to be made!

Artwork is meant to be something that enriches your lives and allows one to feel harmonious in their home environment or office setting.  Places where you can feel energized, relaxed, ready to take on the day or decompress.  With so many emotions and so many feelings it is up to you to know what you want to feel when you walk into a space and simply put, no one can do that for you.

There are so many forms of stress relief and therapeutic options surrounding us and vying for our attention these days, from stress balls, meditation apps, specialized gyms, therapists, online programs, group meetings, yoga, music and travel.  To think that we would go about our lives doing all of these things yet leave our walls blank says something more about how we reside on the inside and where we are inner emotionally.  In order to have proper balance within ourselves and with those around us, it is important on a level that I can hardly begin to explain here in this simple written post; you must have artwork on your walls at home, even if it is poster art you must begin somewhere.

With each room in our day to day world, there is a place for artwork to transform that environment.  For example, in a home office you may want something foundational like a mountain a tree or a lake, something strong immovable and unshaken. In a yoga room, you may want something peaceful and tranquil like a gentle stream murmuring along its way or a bamboo forest with a pathway between it.  A living area you might want something grand, something you could imagine wanting to escape to breathe and unwind, something like a dramatic landscape or a Fine Art Photograph of that favorite beach that you and your special loved one strolled down during your honeymoon. In the bedroom, you may want an artwork that brings you into a place of calm, a place of peace; maybe a subtle glow of a sunset lit sky with an old wooden dock on a calm lake.  These emotions and feelings we all share through imagery have a way of allowing us to engineer and create the vibration of how we interact with our surroundings.  In short, artwork within our homes and places where we occupy much of our time are in need of our greatest attention and if we listen in a meaningful way, there’s not a day that will go by where you won’t thoroughly enjoy what you have created for yourself.

The world can feel crazy at times, on any given day we can feel as if things are spinning out of control and for many of us, the release we run towards is not necessarily the healthiest option.  Escaping from our realities with unhealthy doses of happy hour spirits to make everything fade away is certainly one way to drown out the frustration or melt away the burn that reality has on us during any given day. However, if we seek longevity and sustainability with what we do in life, we must do everything that we can to move the needle toward things that will give us mental clarity and physical health, which ultimately begins from within.  What artwork does for us is it begins to compartmentalize the things that we deal with on a regular basis such as stressors and anxieties. With the rapid changes occurring within our societal norms, we are constantly attempting to adapt, even major brands and businesses are adapting and if they do not, they are seen rapidly going away forever.  With everything that the twenty-first century has thrown at us from foreign policy, political environments, viruses, civil unrest and that of everyday life; we must learn how to put ourselves in a place of understanding the things that need to occur in order for progression to take place.  More and more every day there is a concerted effort towards mental health and its effects on us during our daily lives.

This is truly where Wall Therapy began its journey within me to a place, I am with it today.  I began my journey in Fine Art Photography with an emphasis of Chasing Wild Light, what I quickly realized is that it was much deeper than the complexities of capturing a landscape with epic lighting.  My journey was truly a journey of self-reflection and one where I began to understand what it was that drove me the most.  What I learned so quickly as to what drove me in Fine Art Photography was the capturing of emotion within my imagery.  This was not accomplished without significant sacrifice and tremendous effort and I will admit that everything worthwhile in life rarely ever is.  I began this monumental adventure to attempt to capture every feeling possibly imaginable. While we as humans are some of the most complex beings on earth and the myriad of emotions can range greatly, I like to stick with the happier side of those feelings.  I want to seek out places that find me feeling exhilarated, peaceful, quiet, joyful, contemplative, sensual, appreciative, happy, imaginative, hopeful, reflective, warm, adventurous, full of love and born of a desire to bring the earth closer to those around me.  In this manner I believe what I do is much more than Limited Edition Fine Art Photography, what I am is a dealer in emotions, my product is therapy and you simply pick out your favorite elixir.

There is not a day that goes by where I do not wake up with the excitement and enthusiasm to seek out the adventures of a new day!  I am so gratified in the way I feel about living every day to the fullest and being thankful for everything that has occurred in my life so far.  I look forward to each and every experience and I can only hope that what I do touches your heart and soul as much as it does mine. These works of art are purified through nature and galvanized in the metaphor of hyper realism. I do not do what I do for any other reason than to follow my hearts truest path of fulfillment, to connect others who seek out a spiritual part of their existence that deepens the texture of their lives and brightens the ways in which we experience our everyday existence. Wall Therapy is much more about how we live our lives in harmony than it is about an agenda or a passing phrase.  Wall Therapy is a way to describe how Fine Art can change us from within, how it has the ability to give us peace and allow for a means for us to recharge and garner the strength we so desperately need to stay at the peak of our mental fitness.  What I do for those around me is a lesson in life without words, one led in a meditative place, one which is a spiritually guided journey to a place only you can arrive at within yourself; that is what Wall Therapy translates to and I hope you’ll come away with me in these magical places where the light allows you to tap in to a time and a place where you are transformed, almost reminded of who you are and what you’re greater purpose is. Let us all enjoy this journey of life and living together and be a part of something so much greater than ourselves.
