The brilliant NBC series based on a comedy-drama movie of the same name by Ron Howard follows the multigenerational Braverman family living in California, struggling with all kinds of problems including marital issues, substance abuse problems, and the biggest struggle of all parenthood. Synopsis: A multi-ethnic family with a mix of foster and biological kids are being raised by two moms. Their lives are turned upside down when Lina meets Callie, a teen with an abusive past who has spent her life in foster homes. Modern Family is one of the longest-running sitcoms and it follows the Dunphy and Pritchett family. The series is a mockumentary-style comedy and it follows Jay Pritchett (Ed O’Neill), his new wife Gloria (Sofia Vergara), his stepson Manny (Rico Rodriguez), and his daughters family Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen), her husband and the best father Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell), their children Haley (Sarah Hyland), Alex (Ariel Winter), and Luke (Nolan Gould). Synopsis: After 15 years of being with different families in Oregon’s foster-care system, Lux decides to try her luck as an emancipated minor. As she navigates the legal system in pursuit of that goal, she encounters her birth father, bar owner Nate “Baze” Bazile, living like an aging frat boy with two slacker roommates. He is stunned to learn that he has a teenage daughter and introduces Lux to her mother, radio personality Cate Cassidy, who is sad to learn her daughter has grown up in foster care but thrilled to meet and get to know the girl. She has plenty of opportunity to get acquainted when the judge decides Lux isn’t ready to be emancipated and grants temporary custody to her birth parents.
