2022 has come to an end and 2023 is finally beginning this new year is also bringing some of the most anticipated new shows, that people are dying to see. So, today we are going to the 10 most anticipated new shows that are coming in 2022, according to IMDb. The shows on this are arranged in descending order placing the no. 1 Series at the bottom of the article.

The Continental

Prequel to the wildly popular John Wick film franchise, The Continental will serve as the first TV series connected to the John Wick universe. The series will be set in 1975 New York City and it will focus on a young Winston Scott (who is played by Ian McShane in John Wick films) as he tried to take control of the famous hotel. The series will star the likes of Mel Gibson in the role of an enigmatic new character named Cormac, and The Continental will also star Colin Woodell as a young Winston Scott and Ayomide Adegun as Charon. The Continental is a limited series and will contain three episodes and it is all set to premiere on Peacock in 2023.

Gotham Knights

Gotham Knights are set to premiere on The CW on March 14, 2023. The DC series stars Oscar Morgan and Navia Ziraili Robinson in the lead roles, with Misha Collins taking on the role of Harvey Dent.

Synopsis: Batman is dead, and a powder keg has ignited Gotham City without the Dark Knight to protect it in this DC drama from Berlanti Productions and Batwoman’s Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux, and Natalie Abrams. In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his adopted son Turner Hayes is framed for killing the Caped Crusader, along with the children of some of Batman’s enemies: Duela, an unpredictable fighter and skilled thief who was born in Arkham Asylum and abandoned by her father; Harper Row, a streetwise and acerbic engineer who can fix anything; and her brother Cullen Row, a clever transgender teen who is tired of being polite and agreeable. With the charismatic and hard-charging District Attorney Harvey Dent and the GCPD hot on their trail, Turner will rely on allies such as his best friend and formidable coder Stephanie Brown, and unlikely Batman sidekick Carrie Kelley. But this team of mismatched fugitives will soon learn there is a larger, more nefarious force at work within Gotham City, and they must band together to become its next generation of saviors, known as the GOTHAM KNIGHTS.

Echo

Disney+ is bringing us a new Marvel series with Alaqua Cox reprising her breakout role from the Hawkeye series as Echo. The series is set to follow the anti-hero’s character as she reconnects with her heritage. While Cox’s presence as Echo is enough to bring in fans, it also doesn’t hurt that Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are also coming back to reprise their respective roles of Daredevil and Kingpin. Echo is all set to premiere on Disney+ in 2023.

Ironheart

We finally got our first look at Riri Williams aka Ironheart in Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film. Dominique Thorne will be playing the role of Riri Williams, who is an MIT student and a genius inventor. Ironheart will be focusing on Riri’s character as he goes on an adventure to take on the throne of her spiritual successor Tony Stark. The series will star Alden Ehrenreich, Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, and Sacha Baron Cohen. Ironheart consists of six episodes in total and will premiere on Disney+ in 2023.

Masters of the Air

Masters of the Air is based on a non-fiction book of the same name by Donald L. Miller. The series stars Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Barry Keoghan, Anthony Boyle, Raff Law, Ben Radcliffe, Kai Alexander, Sawyer Spielberg, Nate Mann, and Freddy Carter. The WWII series is coming to Apple TV+ and it will be premiering in 2023.

Synopsis: From Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman-the producers of Band of Brothers and The Pacific. During World War II, airmen risk their lives with the 100th Bomb Group, a brotherhood forged by courage, loss, and triumph.

Ahsoka

One of the most awaited Star Wars series is Ahsoka. After appearing in Dinsey+ shows like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, Jedi Ahsoka is getting her own miniseries containing six episodes. While the plot of the series hasn’t been revealed yet, the addition of multiple characters from the animated series Star Wars: Rebels to the cast is making the fans more and more excited. Rosario Dawson will be reprising her role as the titular character and Hayden Christensen is also coming back as Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader after his role in Obi-Wan Kenobi. The series is coming to Disney+ in 2023.

Love & Death

Inspired by a peculiar actual crime book about a Texas housewife, is getting its miniseries on HBO Max. Starring the likes of Elizabeth Olsen, Jesse Plemons, and Lily Rabe, the series titled Love & Death, is described as “Two church going couples, enjoying small town family life in Texas, until somebody picks up an axe.”

Love & Death also stars Patrick Fugit, Keir Gilchrist, Elizabeth Marvel, Tom Pelphrey and Krysten Ritter. David E. Kelley writes the series, and it is based on a nonfiction book named Evidence of Love. The miniseries is premiering on HBO Max in 2023.

The Fall of the House of Usher

The Netflix series is based on Edgar Allan Poe‘s The Fall of the House of Usher and Other Tales, which was first published in 1839 in Burton’s Gentleman’s Magazine. The Fall of the House of Usher is adapted for television by Mike Flanagan and it is described as “The drama is based on multiple works from Edgar Allan Poe, it features themes of madness, family, isolation, and metaphysical identities. The Fall of the House of Usher is narrated by a man who has been invited to visit his childhood friend Roderick Usher. Usher gradually makes clear that his twin sister Madeline has been placed in the family vault not quite dead. When she reappears in her blood-stained shroud, the visitor rushes to leave as the entire house splits and sinks into a lake.”

The Fall of the House of Usher stars Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell as Madeline Usher, Carl Lumbly as C. Auguste Dupin, Mark Hamill as Arthur Pym, Henry Thomas, Samantha Sloyan, T’Nia Miller, Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford, Katie Parker, Michael Trucco, Malcolm Goodwin, Crystal Balint, Kyleigh Curran, Paola Nuñez, Aya Furukawa, Matt Biedel, Daniel Jun, Ruth Codd, Robert Longstreet, JayR Tinaco, Igby Rigney, and Annabeth Gish. The series also had some recasting to do as Frank Langella was later replaced by Gerald’s Game famed actor Bruce Greenwood. The Fall of House of Usher is coming to Netflix in 2023.

Secret Invasion

Secret Invasion will follow Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and the shape-shifting alien Skrull, who first appeared in MCU in the Captain Marvel film, Ben Mendelsohn will reprise his role as the Skrull General Talos who fought of the Kree in the Captain Marvel film. The script for the series is penned by Kyle Bradstreet who is also an executive producer of the series. The series also stars Cobie Smulders (Spide-Man: Far From Home), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Kingsley Ben-Adir (One Night in Miami), Carmen Ejogo (The Purge: Anarchy), Christopher McDonald (Superhero Movie), and Killian Scott (BBC One’s Dublin Murders). Secret Invasion is all set to premiere on Disney+ in 2023.

The Last Of Us

The Last Of Us series is an adaptation of the first game in the series of the same name. In the game, the players play the role of Joel, who is assigned a task to smuggle a girl named Ellie into a group called the Fireflies. Pedro Pascal will be playing the role of Joel, while Bella Ramsey is going to be Ellie in HBO’s adaptation.

HBO’s The Last of Us is described as “This series takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival. The series will also receive an official companion podcast hosted by Troy Baker who sits down with series creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann for a scene-by-scene deep dive of each episode.”

The Last of Us will be premiering on HBO and HBO Max on January 15, 2023.
