Shadowhunters is based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book Series by Cassandra Clare named The Mortal Instrument and while the Freeform series is not the first adaptation of the book series, the first being the Lily Collins film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Shadowhunter stars Katherina McNamara as an 18-year-old girl Clary Fray, who finds out on her eighteenth birthday that she comes from a long line of Shadowhunter meaning human-angel hybrid who hunt down demons. Joining her in the fight against evil are Jace, Alec Lightwood, Simon Lewis, and Isabelle Lightwood. Shadowhunters debuted with its first season in 2016 and ended with its third and final season in 2019. Syfy’s original series Wynonna Earp is a really entertaining supernatural western action-drama series. Because of a family curse, Wynonna now has to kill the men and women Wyatt Earp killed in his time because all of them have become revenants or demons, who are walking the earth in the present.
