I wrote this track after some artists in my hometown were undermining my music. It’s one of those “ok we’ll see about that” type of songs. I wanted it to be aggressive and hard hitting, yet not something you hear played in clubs. Whenever I hear this song it reminds me that I should not be stressing about anyone else since I do not believe anyone has made it as far as me from my hometown. I hope others here this an become inspired to write more.

Isai – Close Calls Lyrics
I got some brothers that I know would really die for me
I know some people said they never would’ve lied to me
I got some haters and they’re trying to take my life from
I’m from the dmv boy you don’t want a fight with me
I stay talking bout all the money I made
Stacking these funds I might throw a parade
Me and my Frank’s we ain’t going away
Blowing a bag Man I feel like D-Wade
Who want the smoke when I aim with a beam?
Sprite in my cup I mixed that with my lean
Sipping on dirty I ain’t coming clean
I just want purple, I’m counting this green
Extendo on my clip
My trigger finger itch
Bands around my waist
I’ll never lose my grip
Ice around my wrist
Tinted in my whip
I ain’t doing time
I left them weapon in a ditch
They tried to count me out
I need my bread right now
I ain’t forget that shit you owe me
Rob his bank account
If you’re gonna speak my name
You better come around
I know he ain’t about that action
He’s just talking loud
Oh yeah they talking shit
Yeah they talking shit
Girl, why you talking shit?
Always talking shit
That boy be talking shit
Yeah, he talking shit
Why’d you run your mouth like a little bitch?
