Sometimes I sit with intention and spend hours Painting. Other times I have leftover paint or 5 minutes, and magic happens. The difference between the two sessions is that I paint from within. I am working on painting more with that light that shines within me. We all have that light. This week the biggest lessons I’ve learned are about this light.
Choose You
Yes, I enjoy EttaVee’s work. I like Suzanne Allard’s work. I like Carrie Schmitt’s work. Oh, and I Love all the artists of Anthropologie! I like my work too. I am an expressive flower artist. I am an ARTIST. When it’s just me and my ideas, there’s no doubt about it. I simply am. Who am I? I love to dance. I love music. I love food. Most of all I love nature. I long for long days of painting. Riding a horse would be fun too! When I create from this perspective, it’s magical. It’s not the the ideas were the best, or the technique was the best. I was in the present. I was loving me. That helps me love everybody.
Creative Space
That’s why having a sacred creative space is important. It’s your tools. It’s your favorite song. It’s a little medication or prayer. It’s your beautiful mind! I can paint everywhere so long as I’m in MY creative space. We all have our learning habits. Some of us work best in the morning. Some of us work best at night. Some of us can work with noise. Some of us need to radio on. I love music. I realize that my best work comes in the still of the moment. I enjoy the moments where I can sit and paint. I want more days of painting all day.
This week has been about reflecting on the bigger me, that light that shines so bright. I realize that When I focus on this light, that maybe that radiates. I hope that my gives at least a little joy and inspiration.
Thank you for reading. I am almost done scanning the Wild About You flowers. That means one project comes to a close and another begins!
