Vocalist Jordan Speare wrote this track after a really bad first date which got progressively worse as the night went on.
"I came up with most of the lyrics and the melody on the drive home. I finished the rest of the song shortly afterwards. A great example of turning a negative into a positive. I can't even remember that girl's name now, it was so long ago, but I'd like to thank her for inspiring this song. In all honesty though, I was listening to a lot of Tokyo Police Club at the time and I think the goal was just to put an ironic twist on the 'nice guys finish last' narrative. I hope people appreciate the tongue-in-cheek lyrics."

Personally, I like to take the line: "I'm running out of time" to mean that life is slipping by so fast and I'm running out of time to do the things I want to do before I go. Maybe it'll motivate me or you to stop procrastinating and get those projects on the backburner started :)
