AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM Footage

It will forever blow the minds of commentators that Aquaman is the highest-earning entry in the DCEU. For all the talk of how the DCEU movies were more mature in tone than their Marvel counterparts, it was the psychedelic, action-mermaid adventure that featured an octopus playing the drums that put more bums on seats in the theater than any other entry.

Shit the bed! It’s Amber Heard!

The DCEU is closing out forever this December with Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, and now Warner Bros. has released the very first footage from James Wan’s big-budget sequel.

The full trailer is out on Thursday, and this is one of the trailer for the trailer varieties of teaser. It shows Jason Momoa returning as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, along with Patrick Wilson as his half-brother Orm, Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin. The studio has also released a full synopsis for the movie:

“Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all.

This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force.

To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their Kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.”

Wan directs the film produced by Peter Safran, Wan, and Rob Cowan. The screenplay is by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, from a story by James Wan & David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, Jason Momoa & Thomas Pa’a Sibbett. Here is the teaser:

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom opens in theaters worldwide from December 20th, strikes permitting.
