‘Tis the season to be scared, first Winnie the Pooh was turned into a horror movie, and now it’s the turn of the Grinch. An unofficial Dr Suess movie is being made called The Mean One, and this is the story:

“In a sleepy mountain town, Cindy has her parents murdered and her Christmas stolen by a blood thirsty green figure in a red Santa suit – The Mean One. But when the ravenous, Christmas hating creature begins to terrorize the town and threatens to ruin the holiday, she finds a new purpose – trapping and killing the monster.”
No one is saying it’s the actual Grinch, but that’s the “inspiration” for the character. The book The Grinch that Stole Christmas, was originally written by Dr Seuss in 1957. The title The Mean One is taken from the original animated cartoon made in 1966.
Jim Carrey played the Grinch in Ron Howard’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas in 2000, although he didn’t kill anyone and was more fun and cheeky. The Mean One has the tagline:
“Slashing through the snow”
I’m guessing the Grinch is wearing red for the same reason Deadpool does, so the blood doesn’t show up. Being the sick, twisted person I am, I’m up for seeing this, how about you?
The Mean One will be out on 15th Dec, mostly likely on streaming only.
