STAR TREK: PICARD Full Trailer

Chances of Season 3 of Star Trek: Picard being good: Limited. Capacity of Hollywood to learn from mistakes: Near zero. Trailer… optimal. Despite the horror that was season 1 and season 2 of Star Trek: Picard, at least the full trailer for Season 3 is decent.

That is how they get you, though. It’s the hope that kills you. This new trailer adds to the sneak peak Paramount dropped a month ago. It is the NYCC presentation and shows A LOT! Including the first good look at Amanda Plummer as Vadic, captain of a starship called the Shrike who seems to have a big grudge against Picard and the Next Generation crew. Khan Mark II? Or Mark III, depending on what you count.

There visual effects, all the key characters showing up alogside the original crew, and a reveal. Mica Burton and Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut will have recurring roles as ensigns Alandra La Forge and Sidney La Forge, daughters of Geordi. Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, LeVar Burton, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, and Michael Dorn all return for one final go around.

There were more than a week of debates on the Star Trek wiki encyclopaedia Memory Alpha regarding whether a new wiki page should be created for the synthetic version of Picard post Season 1. That ended with both versions being kept in the same page. By the second season, Picard had been appointed Chancellor of Starfleet Academy.

A fitting send off after the dud Star Trek: Nemesis? Or just more of the same? We will find out on Thursday, February 16th.
