Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won are all praises for each other during the press conference of their latest K-drama “Queen of Tears” on Netflix. Also present were their castmates Park Sung-hoon, Kwak Dong-yeon, and Lee Joo-bin. Here’s what the lead stars have to say about working with each other.

Kim Soo-hyun on ‘Queen of Tears’ costar Kim Ji-won

“Queen of Tears” on Netflix reunites Kim Soo-hyun with “My Love From the Star” writer Park Ji-eun. He plays Baek Hyun-woo, a lawyer who is married to chaebol heiress Hong Hae-in, played by Kim Ji-won. This is the first time that the two actors are working together on a project.

Kim Soo-hyun is all praises for his leading lady. “Kim Ji-won is really a good person. And she’s so considerate, whether she’s acting or not. If I can’t resist, I’m going to nickname you the Queen of Consideration.”

Aside from taking care of the cast and staff on set, Kim Soo-hyun says the actress has helped him a lot while shooting the scenes.

“Kim Ji-won had a lot of concentration on set. I’ll be honest with you, there were times when I lost the center of my acting. And then I would look at Kim Ji-won and I would recenter myself. She had a lot of energy for such a small person, and I think she helped me in a lot of ways.”

Since this is their first project together, Kim Ji-won admits that she felt anxious and had a lot of worry in the beginning. Luckily, the first scenes they shot were tense scenes so “those feelings were appropriate for the situation.” She says she now feels more comfortable, which may have a lot to do with her costar’s easy going personality.

“As you can see, Kim Soo-hyun is such a fun and hilarious person, and I think I was just feeding off of that energy on set.” When asked about what nickname she can give her leading man, Kim Ji-won calls him the King of Adlibs.

“Kim Soo-hyun has great stamina, and he never gets tired until the end of the shoot, and he’s a total energizer. I’m a little bit tired in the middle of the shoot now. Even then, Kim Soo-hyun always made me laugh and have fun, so I think I was able to shoot well without getting tired until the end.”
