‘Cobweb’ Cast Invites Filipinos to Watch Their Movie

Song Kang-ho and the rest of the main cast of “Cobweb” invite Filipinos to watch the Korean film, which opens in the Philippines today.

Set in the 1970, “Cobweb,” which premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, follows the story of a director haunted by the desire to reshoot the ending of his latest film despite unfavorable conditions.

“Cobweb” is finally coming to theaters,” says Song Kang-ho, best known for his role in “Parasite,” said in a video posted by TBA Studios. He says his character, Director Kim-yeol, “wants to create a masterpiece at any cost.”

In the video, Lim Soo-jung, Oh Jung-se, Jeon Yeo-been, Krystal Jung, Park Jung-soo, and Jang Young-nam also describe their characters.

Lim Soo-jung plays the role of veteran actress Min-ja, while Oh Jung-se is Ho-se, the philandering top star. Jeon Yeo-been’s character is Shinseong Film heiress Mido, who pushes for reshooting of the Director Kim’s movie.

Meanwhile,  Krystal Jung plays Yu-rim, the rising star. For her part, Park Jung-soo gives life to Madam Oh, the senior veteran actress. Finally, Jang Young-nam is President Baek, CEO of Shinseong Film and the producer of the movie-in-a-movie “Cobweb.”

“In an age when both dreams and art were censored, “Cobweb” presents film director Kim who believes if he just changes the ending, a masterpiece will emerge,” adds Lim Soo-jung.
