Netflix has announced the global release date of the new Japanese zombie comedy film “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead,” starring Eiji Akaso, as August 3, 2023.

“Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead,” according to Netflix, is a “positive and fresh zombie comedy with a reversal of the hopeless situation of the city being overrun by zombies.”

Manga artists Haro Aso and Kotaro Takata created the graphic novel “ ZOM100 -Zombi ni Naru made ni Shitai 100 no Koto-” on which the film is based. Meanwhile, Shogakukan Inc. published the manga. One of its creators, Haro Aso, also created “Alice in Borderland,” which was adopted into a Netflix series.

Not another zombie apocalypse movie

In the movie, Akira Tendo (Eiji Akaso) is employed by an exploitative company. At their office, he suffers endless hours and harassment from his boss. He spends his days feeling more dead than alive. One day, their town is overtaken by zombies. Instead of fearing the zombie apocalypse, Akira gets excited. He no longer needs to go to work. Akira comes up with a bucket list of 100 things he decided to accomplish before he becomes a zombie. With Shizuka (Mai Shiraishi) and Kencho (Shuntaro Yanagi), Akira completes his bucket list.

Also in the cast of the film are Yui Ichikawa, Mayo Kawasaki, Akari Hayami, Miwako Kakei, Kurumi Nakata, Doronz Ishimoto, Mukau Nakamura, Shota Taniguchi, Kenta Satoi, and Kazuki Kitamura.
