From Madonna and The Bangles to Belinda Carlisle and Paula Abdul; AC/DC, Van Halen, Green Day Live and Candlebox; his musical journey was forever changed by these legends as well as Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page David Gilmour and Stevie Ray Vaughan’s stunning guitar playing and inspired him to mimic their iconic licks.

In the early 90s, CS was drawn into alternative rock by John Frusciante, Kurt Cobain and Tom Morello’s music; yet Bradley Nowell’s captivating guitar playing on Sublime’s self-titled record had an indelible impression upon him that drove him back for repeated listens, appreciating every note.

CS Hellmann has found musical inspiration from various sources, from timeless classics such as The Beach Boys and The Beatles introduced by his mom to nostalgic sounds from ’60s girl groups such as The Supremes, Crystals, Ronettes and Dusty Springfield who have left an indelible mark on his musical taste.

“The Fear I Felt” is more than just another track; it tells CS Hellmann’s journey as an emerging songwriter and artist. Reflecting back to his early development, he recalls facing resistance from his father who doubted his musical ambitions; with hard work and determination however, CS proved his worth, showing both capability and passion through music.
