Best Kemper Profiles [2022] All Styles, Free and Paid

If you’ve owned the Kemper for any length of time, there’s a good chance you’ve looked at the Rig Exchange and have been completely overwhelmed by the sheer volume of profiles available. It’s one of the Kempers strongest points, that anyone can Profile and share all their favorite amplifiers with the world. But with so many profiles available, it can be challenging to sift through so many of them to find the best sounding ones.

So we’ve put together a list of the best Kemper profile packs, both free and paid, which are highly recommended by other Kemper users so you can fast-track your way straight to some of the best sounding tones the Kemper can offer.

Our picks of the best Kemper profiles

Michael Britt

The Kemper forum is a place where you will frequently see people ask for recommendations for the very best profiles. MBritt is usually one of the first names to crop up. Michael offers some of the best profiles of rare and vintage amplifiers which have been captured to the highest possible quality.

There are profiles available for every kind of amplifier you could imagine, from the Fender Bass Breaker and Vox AC30 to high gain monsters such as the 5150.

Profile packs are available for purchase on his website, but there is also a FREE Michael Britt Rig Pack available through the Rig Manager which contains 50 high quality profiles.

Tone Junkie

Tone Junkie has a massive selection of profile packs to choose from. Unlike some other packs on the market, these are a little more focused, tailoring each pack to either a specific amp model or style. So you’re not left with a bunch of profiles that perhaps aren’t appropriate for your needs.

They also have a free pack available which includes over 50 profiles selected from an assortment of their more premium packs, giving you a good taste of how they sound.

Choptones

Choptones deals in all things digital modeling, from Fractal patches to Impulse Responses. But their Kemper profiles are some of the best around and are all very affordable. They also offer ‘DI’ profiles which are amplifiers that have been profiled without a cabinet. So if you have a favorite IR you can pair them together easily to make your own custom tone.

Josh Middleton

If you are in need of some monstrous high-gain tones for your Kemper, Josh’s JTM Heavy Bundles 1, 2, and 3 are without a doubt some of the best available. They contain a wide variety of profiles from all your high-gain favorites including the Peavey 6505 and 5150, the Krank Revolution, and the Mesa Boogie Rectifier.

One thing that’s helpful about these is Josh has already filled some of the EQ slots to make these as ‘mix ready’ as possible straight out of the box.

Many of these have been profiled using a boost in front of the amp for that super tight, modern high-gain sound.

Unfortunately, there are no free samples available, but Josh does have plenty of demo videos for each pack on his YouTube channel for some indication of how they sound.

Top Jimi

Another favorite amongst Kemper users. They offer a range of options which are divided into high, medium, and low gain profiles. With the high gain ones aiming to recreate the classic Mark 5 from Mesa Boogie, the ENGL Powerball, and the legendary Friedman Brown Eye to name a few.

The packs generally each focus on a single amp model. But for your money, you will get profiles taken with a range of speakers and at various gain settings. So you can be sure that you have the full image and tonal range of the amplifier covered.

There is also a small pack of 18 profiles available for free under the ‘Rig Packs’ section of the Kemper Rig Manager.

Sinmix

Sinmix was founded by Polish mixing/mastering engineer Grzegorz Kulawiak who specializes in high-gain tones across all the popular digital amp modelers, which includes Fractal and Helix patches. So needless to say he knows what he’s doing.

There is a range of free profiles already available on the Rig Exchange as well as a staggering amount of packs available on his website. Ranging from small, affordable packs that focus on single amplifier models to bundles that include hundreds of profiles.

SinMix was one of the earliest studios making high gain tones for the Kemper and is a trusted creator within the community.

The Amp Factory

Originally a recording studio called OrangeTreeStudios. Because they already had a large collection of amplifiers, as well as the equipment to be able to professionally capture great sounding profiles it only made sense for them to begin producing their own Kemper packs.
With a wide selection of profiles that span across all kinds of genres and all different price ranges. The Amp Factory can offer everything to the eclectic player.
They also have 4 free packs available which Kemper distributes directly through the Rig Manager, you can find them under Rig Packs: The Amp Factory 1-4.

Reampzone

Another popular spot for all kinds of Kemper profiles. Reampszone offers some great, professional sounding profiles for an extremely affordable price. With full blown profiles of all your favorite and essential go-to models such as the Mesa Boogie Rectifier, 6505, and EVH III available as individual packs so you can target the amplifier you are looking to get specifically.

Getgood Drums

Lastly, on the list is a bit more of a pricey one. But, coming from acclaimed audio engineer Adam ‘Nolly’ Getgood you can be sure these profiles have been created with the utmost attention to detail.
Nolly also has made some of the best impulse responses on the market which have been captured separately, allowing you to use any combination you wish. Or you can even take the IR’s themselves and apply them to amplifier profiles you’ve gotten from a different pack.

Should I pay for profiles?

One of the nice things about many producers of Kemper profile packs is they will often make either a sample or even a complete pack available for free. There are enough fantastic sounding profiles out there to where you can function as a professional musician using only free profiles.

But with that being said, many of the packs are available at a very affordable price and we have a lot to thank the amazing creators of these Kemper packs for. So do be open to supporting your favorite creator by purchasing a pack!

In conclusion

We hope this has given you some good initial directions to go in to make your Kemper sound the best it possibly can. It’s a lot of fun creating a collection of favorite amplifiers and there should be more than enough here to keep you busy for a while!
