Synopsis:
Chandramukhi 2 is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language comedy horror film written and directed by P. Vasu, and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner of Lyca Productions. It is a sequel to Chandramukhi (2005).
CAST: Raghava Lawrence, Kangana Ranaut, Vadivelu, Mahima Nambiar, Radhika Sarath kumar, Lakshmi Menon, Rao Ramesh in lead roles.

P Vasu who was successful in directing Chandramukhi failed now badly with the sequel. Chandramukhi 2 will end up as a huge disappointment.

On the whole, Chandramukhi 2 has a similar storyline to the first part. It has decent thrills and great performances from Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut. As the first part is a classic, there will be comparisons for sure but one needs to watch the film with an open mind and enjoy the thriller as it has decent moments of glory.

Overall, Chandramukhi 2 is a loud, inferior rehash of Chandramukhi with the same elements minus its fun, depth, and star presence. Stay away if you like Chandramukhi.

On the whole, Chandramukhi 2 works to an extent due to the second half which is better than the first half. The original story is slightly altered here. Kangana Ranaut steals the show with her performance and Lawrence also leaves his mark in the king role. But the film doesn’t have the thrilling moments one expects from a horror flick. The silly comedy and the first half are the main drawbacks. Chandramukhi 2 isn’t a bad film and at the same time, it isn’t a memorable one like the first part. Hence it will end up being a just okay watch.

Those who just want a momentary diversion might find it passable while those looking for something more will feel underwhelmed.
