According to a released statement by the Enugu State Police Command Spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe, three women have arrested in connection with the death of a twins mother and the illegal trafficking of the newborn babies.

The arrested suspects identified as Ukorie Cynthia (25), Aroh Ijeoma (39) and Onyia Pauline (56) were said to have been remanded at the Enugu Maximun Correctional Centre on Friday (26/08/2022).

They were arrested on the 26th of July, 2022 by the operatives attached to the Central Police Station, Enugu, after a report of their conspiracy and murder of the deceased mother, Chinenye Odoh (31).

Even though the statement noted that the mother was aware of the sale of her babies, the suspects had went ahead to kill her by poisoning her after she discovered that they had given her a lesser amount from what they realized from the sales of her kids.
