Michael Sweeney obituary and death, well-known automobile businessman death

The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office has established that the victim of the weekend shooting on Interstate 75 was a well-known businessman from the Cincinnati region with more than four years of experience in the auto sector.

According to his obituary, Michael Thomas Sweeney, 70, passed away on Monday. In a “drunk driving incident,” he was shot in the head, according to a police report. There is no information available from the police on potential suspects or arrests.

Around 8:30 p.m., according to the Cincinnati Police Department, police responded to an incident. On Saturday, a 70-year-old man was discovered with gunshot wounds. Sweeney was traveling in the automobile with two other persons, but they were unharmed during the incident, according to the police report. The University of Cincinnati Medical Center is where Sweeney passed away.

Sweeney has four children and 32 nieces and nephews, according to his obituary. He went to St. Xavier High School and Cardinal Pacelli Elementary School.

He has spent more than 40 years working in the family’s automobile business. He is Jack Sweeney’s nephew, Tom Sweeney’s son, and Walter Sweeney’s grandson. The family has run an auto shop in Cincinnati since 1917, according to family history.

The obituary stated that Mike “was wonderful to everyone and was always surrounded by his family and friends.” He enjoys telling funny jokes, especially memorable ones, and then snapping his fingers.

Police said the guy was operating a four-door car in silver or gray, probably a Chevrolet or a Nissan, with temporary license plates and dark-tinted windows. The shooting is being looked into by the homicide division of the Cincinnati Police Department.

Mike was cordial to everyone and was frequently accompanied by his loved ones. He enjoys telling jokes, especially ones with a punchline and a finger snap.

On Saturday, May 20, at 11 a.m., a Christian funeral will be held in St. Vincent Ferrer Church. The chapel is open for visitation before the 10am service.
