At a middle school in the northeast of Las Vegas, a member of the Clark County School District was shot on Monday.

According to Metropolitan Police Department Capt. Noel Roberts, the man was shot at roughly 12:30 p.m. outside Ed Von Tobel Middle School, which is located at 2436 N. Pecos Road next to East Carey Avenue.

As of Monday afternoon, Roberts reported that the man was in “stable condition” after being brought to University Medical Center.

The middle school was placed on a strict lockdown for approximately an hour, according to police, and the gunman had not yet been apprehended as of 2:30 p.m. According to Jovan Mingo of the Clark County School District Police, two nearby elementary schools, Jay W. Jeffers and Fay Herron, were also locked down on Monday.

There were no injuries to any pupils, according to the school system and the police.

The victim was a staff member, according to the statement made by the superintendent on Monday afternoon.
