Michael Howell Obituary: What Was Michael Howell Cause of Death

Michael John Howell, who was born on September 3rd, 1953, died unexpectedly on November 10th, 2022. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and someone who actually loved being in the quiet woods; the only thing that garnered more of his time, energy, and love than his family. His patience, support, presence, and love for his family were defining characteristics of his parental and marital duties, which he excelled in throughout his life. Most people largely ignored him, which suited him just fine because he didn’t care about attention.

Parents John and Marilyn Howell welcomed their son Mike into the world in Hollywood, California (Clark). He was reared by his mother following the separation of his parents when he was a small child. As a result, he began to take pleasure in being outside because doing so meant that he would have more free time to enjoy himself rather than working on household tasks. Soon after graduating from high school, he relocated to Los Angeles where he met Marilee Murray, the love of his life. In June 1978, they got married. They moved their life soon after and started a new chapter in Utah in order to satisfy their lust for the wildness that was rapidly vanishing in and around Los Angeles.

Shortly after relocating to Utah, Mike was fortunate to quickly discover an opening at the job of his dreams there, which allowed him to begin a successful 37-year career. His career at Browning Archery began with him sanding bow limbs, and he eventually advanced to the post of Assistant Plant Manager. By the time he retired in 2015, he had acquired significant knowledge of firearms, bows, and gunsmithing as a result of integrating his love of shooting and hunting into his career. Mike loved to shoot, hunt, and fish all throughout the western United States, but there was always one thing that he loved more than anything else: his family.

Mike’s involvement as a present and involved parent to his kids was the one thing that made him prouder than winning competitive shooting matches or going on successful hunts. He showed up for each and every practice, match, school musical, and sporting event before or after school, win or lose, always with a smile and a hug. Without hesitation or complaint, he put in a lot of overtime. He offered assistance with academic tasks. He attended all of the sporting events. Prior to Mike, he lost his wife Marilee Howell, son Jedediah Howell, mother Marilyn Clark, and father John Howell. The last person left alive from his immediate family was Mike.

Only his three children Rhett, Amanda, and Zach, as well as his granddaughter Bea, his cousin Alex Clark, his stepmother Jackie Howell and her daughters Terry and Cathy, and his mother-in-law Dorothy and her children Colleen and David, are still alive. A wake and a celebration of life will be held at Leavitt’s Mortuary in Ogden, Utah on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. The Henry’s Fork Foundation is striving to safeguard one of Mike’s favorite natural areas on Earth, therefore the family asks that in lieu of flowers, you donate to the organization.
