Lights, Camera, Reunion: Prabhudeva and A.R. Rahman Shake Up Bollywood Again!

After a 25-year hiatus, actor Prabhudeva and Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman reunite for an upcoming movie, tentatively titled ARRPD6, following their last collaboration in Rajiv Menon’s 1997 romantic musical Minsara Kanavu, which marked Kajol’s Tamil cinema debut.

Prior to this collaboration, Prabhudeva and A.R. Rahman had teamed up for the 1994 romantic thriller Kaadhalan, featuring Nagma and Vadivelu.

Taking to Instagram, Prabhudeva recently unveiled a sneak peek of the upcoming film with a series of concept posters. Directed by Manoj N. S., the movie is set to feature a stellar cast including Yogi Babu, Aju Varghese, and Arjun Ashokan, with the musical maestro A.R. Rahman onboard to compose the film’s music.

With Prabhudeva striking his signature dance pose on the poster, it’s evident that the upcoming film promises a dance extravaganza akin to Remo D’Souza’s ABCD franchise. While the franchise’s debut showcased Prabhudeva, Ganesh Acharya, and Kay Kay Menon in pivotal roles, its sequel starred Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, setting the stage for a dynamic blend of talent and rhythm.

The announcement of the Prabhu Deva-Rahman collaboration has set social media abuzz, with fervent fans reminiscing about their favorite moments from their past collaborations. From nostalgic comments like “This is the collaboration we never knew we needed”, to excited declarations of “Time to dust off those dancing shoes”, the anticipation among fans is palpable and electric.

Helmed by Manoj N S, Divya Manoj, and Dr. Praveen Elak, ARRPD6 is slated for release in five languages—Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Despite the anticipation surrounding the film, the official release date is yet to be unveiled.

In Yogaraj Bhat’s action-packed Karataka Damanaka, Prabhu Deva graced the screen alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Priya Anand, and Nishvika Naidu, showcasing his enduring versatility as an actor.
