Music pervades every aspect of our lives. Songs frame our spiritual rituals, children learn the alphabet through song, and the malls and cafes we visit in our spare time are rarely silent.

Electrifying Album releases from Imagine Dragon, Beyoncé, Lizzo, and other well-known artists kept music fans glued to their stereos throughout July. The same contagious energy will undoubtedly surround the upcoming albums, which will be released in August 2022.

And the forthcoming albums look very interesting and entertaining. There is no shortage of high voltage music, ranging from Calvin Harris’ Funk Wav Bounces Vol 2 to Eminem’s Curtain Call 2.

Calvin Harris: Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2

Genre: Rap, Dance/Electronic

Calvin Harris put on his forthcoming album Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 on his social media on June 29, 2022. It features 21 Savage, Dua Lipa, Young Thug, Chlöe, Charlie Puth, Normani, Halsey, Offset, 6LACK, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, Pharrell, Swae Lee, Jorja Smith, and Snoop Dogg, among others.

Harris previously teased the album in May with the song “Potion.” This new album follows the previously released Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 (2017), which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and featured lesser-known artists.

Eminem: Curtain Call 2

Genre: Hip-hop

Curtain Call 2 is a follow-up to Eminem’s 2005 collection Curtain Call: The Hits, and was released by Shady Records/Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records.

The collection includes the rapper’s work since his 2009 studio album Relapse, as well as songs from other artists. Some songs are also from other music projects. The new album also includes “The King and I,” a song from Baz Luhrmann’s eponymous biopic of Elvis Presley, on which Eminem collaborated with CeeLo Green.

The album’s release date was announced shortly after the rapper released the set’s lead single, “From the D 2 the LBC,” on June 23, 2022. It also features Snoop Dogg, and the title is a tribute to the two rappers’ hometowns of Detroit, Michigan and Long Beach, California.

Curtain Call 2 also includes an autographed vinyl box set in a limited edition box set.

Panda Bear and Sonic Boom: Reset

Genre: Alternative/ Indie

Panda Bear (Noah Lennox) and Sonic Boom (Peter Kember) have been friends for a long time and have collaborated for the first time on this album. Reset, released by Domino, is their first album together, despite the fact that both have extremely successful solo careers.

The physical album will be released on November 18th, following the digital release on August 12th. Sonic Boom’s 1950s and 1960s American doo-wop and rock-and-roll long play (LP) records served as inspiration. However, the duo has collaborated to give it a unique spin.

Kasabian: The Alchemist’s Euphoria

Genre: Alternative/ Indie Rock

The band is preparing to release its seventh studio album through Columbia. The band pushed back the release date from August 5 to August 12 due to production issues.

Kasabian has already released singles such as “ALYGATYR,” “SCRIPTVRE,” and “CHEMICALS,” giving fans a taste of what’s to come in the new album, which is set to be released in August 2022. The Alchemist’s Euphoria is also the band’s first full-length album since the departure of frontman Tom Meighan in 2020. Since then, Serge Pizzorno has held the position and served as the group’s public face.

Pale Waves: Unwanted

Genre: Indie pop

Pale Waves’ third album Unwanted, released by Dirty Hit, is the follow-up to the band’s 2021 album Who Am I?

Pale Waves released a single lead from this 13-track album titled “Lies” in April 2022, giving fans a sneak peek into the music. On their TikTok account, the band also shared two album snippets and song choruses.

According to NME, Pale Waves frontwoman Heather Baron-Gracie said of Unwanted, “It was really the only thing this album could be called.” It’s unapologetic and daring, and that’s what the Pale Waves community is all about. We don’t have to fit into a perfect mould, we don’t have to apologise for being ourselves, and we’re not going to change for anyone.

Madonna: Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones

Release date: 19 August
Genre: EDM/ Pop

Madonna set an unparalleled precedent in 2020 when she became the first and only artist to top any Billboard chart 50 times. She is all set to release her upcoming album Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones to commemorate the occasion.

This album is part of her collaboration with Warner Music Group and it features 50 remixes of her chart-topping hits. Finally Enough Love, a smaller abridged version with 16 songs, is also available.

Panic! At The Disco: Viva Las Vengeance

Release date: 19 August
Genre: Alternative/ Indie

Brendon Urie’s Viva Las Vengeance, his seventh album under the Panic! label, is a follow-up to the 2018 album Pray for the Wicked.

It is one of the most anticipated albums of August 2022, and it is Panic! It will be released via Fueled b Ramen/DCD2 Records. The title track is a juggernaut of pop elements. According to a social media post, “This is the story about growing up in Las Vegas.” It’s about love, celebrity, burnout, and everything in between.”

Hot Chip: Freakout/ Release

Release date: 19 August
Genre: Electronic music

Hot Chip’s eighth studio album FreakOut/Release is the follow-up to the band’s 2019 album A Bath Full of Ecstasy. It is one of the upcoming releases from Domino that is sure to get a lot of attention. This new album is described as “a collection of flesh-and-blood songs that finds the band reaching into the darkness to emerge as a true creative unit, their gazes fixed positively on the future ahead,” according to Domino.

“Down,” which will be released on April 19, 2022, is the first song from the group of five — Owen Clarke, Al Doyle, Joe Goddard, Felix Martin, and Alexis Taylor — who worked on 11 tracks. It paved the way for the album’s composition, and the video features distorted images, jerking lights, and metal welding.

In fact, the popular K-pop girl group BLACKPINK is also set to make a comeback in August with the release of a new album. Though little is known about it, fans are eager to see the Korean stars in action after a nearly two-year hiatus. BLACKPINK’s most recent album, The Album, was released in October 2020. And, on 6 July 2022, the group’s label YG Entertainment announced that the quartet will return for the largest world tour in K-pop history.
