15 Most Powerful Marvel Gods

It’s no surprise that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is continuously expanding, both on and off Earth, so we’ve recently been introduced to a slew of gods, cosmic entities, and alien threats. With Gorr the God Butcher physically murdering a laundry list of gods in the latest MCU film Thor: Love and Thunder, you can bet your last dollar that we’ll be seeing more of our favorite comic book deity-level superheroes and supervillains on the big screen in the near future.

Some cosmic gods are demonic and wicked, serving terrible purposes. Others have risen above the purest forms of light, representing everything that is good. Some of them are even live manifestations of the Multiverse itself.

1 LOKI

This God of Mischief, arguably one of the most engaging characters in the MCU, is capable of far more than he is given credit for in the movie. Loki’s role as the Trickster God in the comics has seen him frustrate some of the universe’s most powerful entities, including his brother Thor and his archenemy, Mephisto. He is a character who use guile and strategy rather than the typical one-two punch of a hero or villain. His abilities aren’t restricted to producing illusions.

2 THOR

Thor is the son of Odin and Jord, also known as Gaea, and is regarded as Asgard’s most powerful warrior. His might is enormous, but when combined with his legendary hammer Mjolnir, he is impossible to destroy. That hasn’t prevented his opponents from attempting, which has taken him dangerously close to death at times, like as during Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic’s The God Butcher arc. He’s always overcome these accomplishments because of his strength and determination to always fight back, even when the odds are stacked against him.

3 HELA

In contrast to the MCU, Hela is not Odin’s daughter. She is said to be the daughter of Loki, the God of Mischief, and Angrboda, a sorceress and giantess. The Norns, the three Asgardian goddesses of fate, informed the Asgardian gods about Hela’s possible menace. This is why Odin, Asgard’s king at the time, decided to put Hela in a position where she would be unable to live up to her destructive potential. She was elevated to the status of goddess and ruler over the spirits of the dead. She then presided over Hel and Niffleheim, the places where Asgardian spirits go after they no longer serve the living.

Odin, often known as the All-Father, is a god of great importance in the realms of Midgard and Asgard. His origin tale is hazy because it has only been told by Odin throughout Marvel history. He is the son of Bor, a warrior whose might rivals the Odinforce, and Bestla, a giantess. He also had two additional siblings who were killed in a war against Surtur while they were young. Odin’s might expanded twofold as a result of his adoption of the abilities of his fallen siblings. His strength, speed, agility, and other physical abilities exceed those of any human. His most powerful ability, though, is his Odinforce.

5 DORMAMMU

Dormammu is the Dark Dimension’s Lord. In reality, he is one of the few beings considered equal in strength and might by Odin, as he says in the Avengers/Defenders War event. He is more powerful than Lucifer, Marduk, and Mephisto. He’s also been accused of corrupting Odin’s spells against his consent. Dormammu’s magical power is potentially comparable to that of Agamotto, a son of the Elder God Oshtur who, along with his mother and Hoggoth, created the Vishanti. Dormammu is regarded as the Vishanti’s greatest foe.

6 CHTHON

Chthon was one of the first Elder Gods created by the Demiurge, Earth’s sentient life source, but he was also one of the first to turn evil and become a demon. Chthon was banished to another dimension after narrowly escaping the might of Atum, aka the God-Eater, in his Demogorge state. Chthon and the other remaining Elder Gods formed a deal shortly after that they would not meddle with each other’s territory and would remain independent. Despite the deal, Chthon was able to maintain his power on Earth.

7 KRONOS

This being was an Eternal of Earth who annihilated himself while conducting a scientific experiment with cosmic energy. He not only destroyed his body, but he also annihilated Titanos, the home of the Earth’s Eternals. His consciousness mingled with time and the universe as his body died. According to the Marvel Universe Wiki, as a result of this, Kronos grew into a creature that spanned for millions of kilometers and continued to grow. Kronos, now that he is no longer bound to his body, possesses a plethora of powers and abilities compared to Zeus, Galactus, and Odin by Thanos in Thanos Annual #1.

8 GALACTUS

Galactus, also known as the Devourer of Worlds, is the solitary survivor of the Multiverse’s sixth iteration. He lived because, towards the end of the universe’s life, the Sentience of the Universe combined with him as Galan to form what we now know as Galactus. Galactus’ only way to restore his life energy was to practically consume an entire planet. He is a disease on the universe, striking fear into the hearts of civilizations that may fall prey to his insatiable hunger. He is also the bearer of the Power Cosmic, an infinite source of cosmic energy.

9 AMATSU-MIKABOSHI

When two Shinto Gods entered Amatsu-black Mikaboshi’s emptiness and began to rule alone, they began to populate the realm with other sentient beings. Those beings became popular among the Japanese people and were worshiped as gods, which enraged Mikaboshi. When he attempted to destroy them, he was sent to Yomi, a netherworld where he languished for years. That, however, would not be his last appearance in the Marvel Universe. He has fought beings such as Thor and Hercules.

10 ETERNITY

Eternity is a powerful deity that encompasses the consciousness of all living beings in the universe. His children are separate creatures that symbolize notions in their own realms. Empathy, Entropy, Eulogy, Expediency, Epiphany, Enmity, and Eon are some of them (who was eventually killed and replaced with Epoch). Eternity is one of many abstract notions in the world that have become characters in Doctor Strange or other cosmic adventures. If a character like Eternity appears, you should probably pay attention since some universe-shattering events may be taking place.

11 OBLIVION

Oblivion is another abstract entity that appeared when the cosmos was created. He appeared among other entities that represented cosmic notions such as Eternity, Infinity, and Death. While Eternity and Infinity may be different aspects of the same creature, Oblivion and Death may likewise have a similar relationship. He also lives in the Outer Void, a pocket universe discovered in Quasar #25 when Quasar slipped into it during his fight with Maelstrom. Oblivion’s goal is to halt the expansion of the universe because he represents non-existence. As a result, he occasionally clashes with Infinity, generally through the use of an avatar of their choice.
