Tempe Town Lake | Arizona Senior Photographer

Senior Picture Locations in Tempe, AZ

Madalynne wanted to find the perfect blend between a desert and water theme for her photoshoot, bringing us to Tempe Town Lake, for the first time in many years! If there is ever a place with endless outdoor activities and beautiful scenery for photos, it is Tempe Town Lake. The lake perfectly reflects the sky and has adorable boats, with locals waving to photographers and pedestrians taking in the area’s beauty. Hands down, this is one of the best parts about being a photographer: Discovering new places for senior photoshoots!

Such A Small World

When I was given the opportunity to work with Madalynne and her family, I was surprised to find out that her stepfather is an airplane mechanic at Falcon Aviation at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa. The next twist of fate is how that with another 2023 senior, Corbin, arrived for his consultation as I was finalizing Madalynne’s gallery. Corbin’s family owns Falcon Aviation! Both families hired me, yet neither of them knew about this coincidence! This is yet another great perk about being a Senior Portrait Photographer. I meet families in all walks of life!

Minimalist Effort for Maximum Beauty

Madalynne’s first choice of outfits included her favorite flannel shirt and jean shorts to compliment her eyes. The beautiful lake in the background just added to the color fusion that made Madalynne look like a diamond in a sea of blue! The model potential is strong with this one!

What was incredible about working with Madalynne was her ability to take classic looks and make them shine! As we approached sunset, she selected a simple cropped white top with some ripped wide-leg jeans. This could have also been inspired by her love for Taylor Swift, with her music to style incorporated into her wardrobe choices.

Many of her golden hour shots showed off her fun and coy side with the sun shining on her smile to compliment her portraits.

Bring A Friend

With a fabulous senior portrait session on the horizon, Madalynne had the incredible idea to bring her best friend along for her shoot, and the results were Instagram-worthy! I was fortunate to capture the CUTEST moment between the two when they talked and laughed while walking to another location. The best times are the ones when you, as a photographer, can capture moments of people enjoying life, and seeing how happy these two made one another reminds me why it is so important to not only enjoy the little things like having the best friend but why, EVERY moment of being a photographer is essential. This is a driving force as to why I offer consultations for all of my clients; it helps us get to know each other to ensure your shoot shows off every aspect of your personality!

The two besties chose to wear coordinating outfits that helped add to the incredible aesthetic of the photoshoot. With their ripped jeans, plain black and brown shirts, and down hairstyles, the two didn’t need any motivation to smile for the camera; they had each other! Madalynne’s best friend was her cheerleader, even for her solo shots, which often resulted in the best expressions! You know your bestie knows all the inside jokes and secrets that can make you laugh!

Follow the Lights

Switching to Madalynne’s nighttime photoshoot, I wanted to capture her in an ideal setting with lights in the background. You know, the “blurry lights” that everyone loves! For this, we decided to go Tempe Beach Park and capture the glow from the tall buildings across a grass field. I have to admit, I was a little bummed that we missed the sunset, or so I thought. Then realized we were getting the most amazing sunset reflections in the buildings!

Is it no surprise that Madalynne’s favorite colors are blue and green?! Madalynne ‘s brown top, blue jeans, and freshly coated maroon nails helped add to the earthy atmosphere that seemed to be the theme of her senior photoshoot. Her love of dark colors was apparent from how she could pose so effortlessly in the night.

Countdown to Graduation!

With big plans to go to college and study either law or forensics, Madalynne has a bright future ahead of her, and she showed it off for all of us during her cap and gown shoot! With a bright red dress and tasteful mid-heels that perfectly matched her cap and gown, Madalynne wanted the camera to capture every bit of happiness she felt for graduation. What I loved about her look was how her red dress and black cap and gown showed her transition from a young lady to a grown woman ready to take on the world! You can see how excited she is to throw her cap and show off her sparkling 2023 graduation charm.

A Bright Future

With graduation, prom, and college right around the corner for this soon-to-be Queen Creek High School grad, Madalynne has an eventful year ahead of her! We can only imagine how she will take on the world ahead of her, but, for now, she has to catch up with the last bit of high school gossip and spend as much time with her best friend as before she takes on the legal world at her university!

All The Pretty Things

Pretty things make me happy, so that’s what I create. I’m not sure “pretty” covers it though. Having gorgeous senior pictures is only the beginning! Hiring a full service senior portrait photographer means you’ll have help sorting through all those beautiful images. And then rather than handing you a USB or just having you download your images, we create stunning artwork that you’ll love displaying in your home. It will make you smile every time you walk by those wall portraits in the entry or flip through your handcrafted heirloom album. Clients always comment on the stunning glass-like album finish that will absolutely take your breath away!

Pictures of these custom metal prints just don’t show the true beauty. The video clip shows the bright, vibrant color and gorgeous semi-gloss finish. Metal prints arrive ready to display, with either metal hang, stand out mount, or an easel back. Your choice!

Class of 2024

If you’re a 2024 grad, it’s time to think about your senior portrait session! Where would you like to shoot? Do you want something simple or a session that includes lots of outfit change? Maybe you don’t really have any specific ideas, so let’s talk! With 14 years of experience as a senior portrait photographer, I have tons of ideas and locations for inspiration. You can find me on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest, too, so go ahead and explore… Let’s make your senior pictures amazing!
