From New York City, drummer Peter Criss, lead guitarist Ace Frehley, bass guitarist Gene Simmons, and rhythm guitarist Paul Stanley formed Kiss. This brand of shock rock served as the marketing genius that would catapult these four men into the status of superstardom. Aside from the special effects used to put on jaw-dropping performances, this was a group that knew how to spit out hits clean through the second half of the 1970s.
