S. Ramesan was a poet, orator, and literary activist from Kerala, India, who wrote in the Malayalam language. Among the accolades he received were the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award and the Asan Memorial Poetry Prize. He was the Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sangham’s State Vice President (Progressive Art Literary Society). He has served as the state secretary of the Purogamana Kala Sahithya Sangam, the director of the Sahithya Pravarthaka Sahakarana Sangam (Literary Working Co-operative Society), a member of the Kerala State Library Council’s executive committee, the president of the Ernakulam Public Library, and the editor-in-chief of the Granthalokam Magazine. Under minister T. K. Ramakrishnan, he was the Additional Private Secretary in charge of the Kerala state Department of Culture from 1996 until 2001.
