Visharada Neela Wickramasinghe was a Sri Lankan songster and musician, who substantially performed in Sinhalese. On 2002, Wickramasinghe innovated a charity organisation named “The Mother” with the end of feeding to children, elders and artists who made a continuance donation to the field. She’s the chairman of the organisation. Wickramasinghe shared in the UNICEF Project to save the children by eradicating polio from our country in 1989. She sang a song composed for this crusade, which was heard constantly over the airwaves andT.V. channels. Her sweats helped immensely to annihilate polio through this crusade and by 2000 not a single case of polio had been recorded since.
