Ibrahim Khan Gauri was an Indian Hindi and Urdu minstrel, intelligencer, actor and film lyrist. He wrote under the pen name Ashk. A intelligencer, minstrel and film pen, he worked for four times with the Daily Indore Samachar, six with Shama and Shushma magazines, and two with Sarita, a Hindi yearly magazine. Ashk penned the lyrics for a number of songs used in Bollywood flicks, including“Kaho Naa Pyar Hai”,”Koi Mil Gaya”,”Janasheen”,”Eitbaar”,”Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage”,”Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche”, and “Dhund”. He also acted in a periodical penned by himself. Amidst his busy schedule, he took little time out to partake his experience and guide the forthcoming gift in the Bollywood assiduity. He organized yearly Lyrics Writing Workshops in Mumbai.
