Antoine Faivre was a Western esotericism specialist from France. He was a professor at the Sorbonne’s École Pratique des Hautes Études, a University Professor of Germanic Studies at the University of Haute-Normandie, the director of the Cahiers del Hermétisme and the Bibliothèque de l’hermétisme, and the editor of the journal Aries with Wouter Hanegraaff and Roland Edighoffer until his retirement.
