Leonard Moore Hauss was an American professional football player who played center for the Washington Redskins in the National Football League (NFL) from 1964 to 1977. He was rated one of the 70 Greatest Redskins and was a five-time Pro Bowl pick. Hauss was a member of the Georgia Bulldogs football team in college. In the 1964 NFL Draft, Hauss was selected in the ninth round (115th overall). Four games into the 1964 season, he started his first game at center, a position he would hold until retirement. In 1972, Hauss assisted in the Redskins’ Super Bowl VII victory. Between 1964 and 1977, he started 192 consecutive games for the Redskins. In 1966, 1968-1970, and 1972, he was named to the Pro Bowl five times. Bob Kuziel took his place in 1978.
