Anne Clarissa Eden, Countess of Avon was an English memoirist and centenarian. She was the woman of Anthony Eden, 1st Earl of Avon, who served as British high minister from 1955 to 1957. She married Eden in 1952, getting Lady Eden in 1954 when he was made a Knight of the Garter, before getting Countess of Avon in 1961 on her hubby‘s being created an earl. She was also the bastard of Winston Churchill. Her 2007 bio is subtitled From Churchill to Eden.
Following the death of Lady Wilson of Rievaulx in June 2018, Lady Avon was the oldest living partner of a British high minister until her own death in 2021. She turned 100 on 28 June 2020 and was the alternate partner of a British high minister to come a centenarian, after Lady Wilson. She outlasted five British high ministers‘ consorts who came after her.
