KrTC of Hip Hop

Swaziland Music

KrTC of Hip Hop, also known as Thamsanqa Sibandze, was born on April 25th and is one of eSwatini’s most notable musical achievements. Hip hop music gained popularity when the duet Siyinqaba with Muzi Mozaik Ngwenya won the Tihlabane Album of the Year Award in 2010.

KrTC, who raps in both English and Swati, began spitting rhymes ranging from dancefloor-ready booty tracks to inspirational hustler bangers long before hip-hop was taken seriously in his home nation.

He created Siyinqaba alongside producer and rapper Mozaik in 2011 to release the album “Siyinqaba.” Many well-known Swazi musicians took part in the project.

As a consequence, the duo was able to book gigs in South Africa and have one of their songs included on Big Brother Africa. Never one to rest on his laurels, KrTC of Hip Hop launched his solo album “Hip Hop in 3D” in 2013.

He’s renowned as a conceptualist, lyricist, and occasional vocalist. His abilities and uniqueness have landed him a seat as co-host of ‘Swazi Rhythm,’ a radio show that promotes and promotes local musicians of all genres.

KrTC is also a co-founder of HeadCount, a hip-hop-focused platform for the development of fresh talent. Because he is almost constantly on the microphone, he formed a group called the Mic’aholix, which includes rappers, a beatboxer, and a poet. They’ve hosted and performed at a range of occasions, always exceeding expectations.

American rapper The Game, Amu, Tumi and the Volume, Pro, Young Nation, Skwatta Kamp, Bricks, Ntando, Blu Cantrell, Jozi, and others have all performed with him.
