Shark Tank India Season 3 Episode 51 Recap

As we near the end of this season of Shark Tank, we first reminisce about a great year of new ideas, innovations and some funny moments between the Sharks and the founders. Plus, the innovators in this episode further leave an impact on our hearts with their innovative ideas and drive to do something better. The Sharks in this episode are Aman Gupta, Namita Thapad, Anupam Mittal, Vineeta Singh and Azhar Iqubal.

Caspian

This smart household cleaning device envisions replacing the everyday cleaning rag that we use with something more environmentally conscious that doesn’t break the band either. It also has microfibre cloth attached to it that remains consistently wet so that you can cover the maximum area with the minimum amount of water wasted, so much so that it reduces the time needed to clean by half. The founders ask for Rs 15 Lakhs for 1% equity in the company.

The founders give a demo with Anupam’s help and the Sharks are left impressed with the simplicity and effectiveness of the product. However, the nitty gritty discussions of the product and its effectiveness make for a heated conversation between both parties. In the end, however, most of the Sharks find the product unnecessary and not well thought out and the Sharks all opt out to invest in the product.

Lea Clothing Co.

This fashion brand prides itself in its tailoring, comfort and quality and is a clothing brand that celebrates all bodies. They also mention their proprietary sizing chart specifically for Indian bodies along with their sister brands that focus on eastern wear and swimwear as well. They ask for Rs 1 Crore for 2% equity of the company. The founders then go on to explain their background, how they came to create this brand and their differentiators.

The Sharks are impressed with their sales numbers and the ideas that the founders have brought forth to keep up with the growing demands of the business. In the end, Anupam, Vineeta, Namita and Azhar join together and give the founders a deal and, in the end, the founders agree to a deal of Rs 1 Crore for 4% equity + 2% royalty until Rs 1.5 Crores in recouped.

$Krishnarama

The next founders to come to the Tank are a pair of filmmakers/producers who ask the Sharks for investment in their newest Telugu film $Krishnarama and the founders ask for Rs 2 Crore for 30% equity of the project. The Sharks first discuss the viewership of the first film #Krishnarama and how much revenue it generated.

However, the Sharks disagree with the creators’ argument that people who are streaming the content from home will go to the theatres to watch the movie and discuss the topic further, along with understanding which of their previous films worked and bombed. However, the Sharks don’t feel convinced with their numbers and all of them opt out of an investment.

Rentit4me

This renting platform allows users to either rent from them or put up their products for rent as well. Covering a wide range of products, the platform also lists local rental vendors on their platforms and connects them with customers, giving the entire model a structure. In the end, the founders ask for Rs 1.5 Crores for 5% equity to make their dreams of becoming the Amazon of renting a reality.

After discussing their background, the founders jump headfirst into their sales and their hottest-selling categories, along with discussing what differentiates them from other similar companies. The Sharks further question their sales figures but unfortunately, they are unable to secure a deal because they are unable to nail their pitch.

Shark Tank India Season 3 Episode 51 Review

As we reach the end of Shark Tank India Season 3, we are introduced to our special host Snehil Dixit Mehra who brings forth an extra episode which gives the pitchers one last chance to create an impact on the Sharks.

The last episode was definitely a bittersweet experience because 125 pitches later, audiences had almost gotten used to watching the programme every night! Regardless, the last episode is nothing short of fun and interesting, with some very varied entrepreneurs coming to the Tank to secure an investment. From brilliant pitches to ones that we haven’t ever seen on Shark Tank India, these entrepreneurs have nailed the entertainment experience.

Plus, the Sharks were also on a great streak in this episode as we got four new pitches instead of three and they were all in top shape. Although I thought that some of the pitches got off easier than others, it is important to keep in mind that this is also an entertainment show after all and editing is done heavily. That being said, it was an entertaining end to season 3, although I wonder why they didn’t do something more unique like the last two seasons!
