Shark Tank India Season 3 Episode 3 Review

With each episode, we gain insights into new business terms that may have been familiar to us but were not fully understood in our daily lives. The program sheds light on how these terms are applied in the context of contemporary business and modern technology. Additionally, it introduces us to the brilliant minds within our own country who are actively engaged in their entrepreneurial journeys. This episode also highlighted some of the best deals and products that, if adopted, could significantly enhance our lives.

The third episode established a compelling tone by promptly introducing Ritesh Agarwal, the Founder and CEO of OYO Hotels & Homes, and delving into the inception of his company. It offered insights into the genesis of his idea, emphasizing the journey from concept to monumental success. The episode also shed light on Agarwal’s resilience, particularly as someone hailing from a small town, showcasing how he managed to build a significant company. Despite facing challenges, he persevered through difficult times and ultimately achieved success.

The first entrepreneurs, Dilkhush Kumar and Siddharth Shankar Jha, introduced their app, RodBez, which provides taxi, taxi pool, and carpool services for one-way travellers. The app is designed to address the challenges faced by both taxi drivers and customers in Bihar. In the region, it has become increasingly challenging for drivers to find customers for return trips, resulting in customers having to pay for the return journey even if they don’t require it.

The judges were impressed by the founders’ integrity and their in-depth understanding of the local landscape. Unlike traditional taxi services primarily concentrated in urban areas, RodBez aims to expand its reach across Bihar. The fact that one of the founders was previously a driver added credibility to their venture, as it demonstrated a firsthand understanding of both drivers’ needs and customers’ preferences.

The next entrepreneur, Abbas Gabajiwala, the visionary founder of BLIX, a cutting-edge toy company that seamlessly merges play with science and robotics, offering educational benefits for children. Hailing from a family with a rich history in toy-making, Abbas is the third generation to carry on this tradition. His compelling pitch and innovative product captivated the attention of all the sharks, showcasing the market potential and impact of his groundbreaking creation.

Lastly, Saurav Kumar Sinha introduced Homversity, his groundbreaking application designed to provide the ultimate solution for finding hostels and PG accommodations. The startup aimed to address the challenges students encounter when searching for a place to stay, including the difficulty of finding a clean and comfortable environment along with access to quality food. While the pitch showcased the potential of the app, it failed to convince the sharks due to the founder’s apparent lack of attentiveness to their questions. This raised concerns among the sharks, leading them to doubt the scalability of the venture in the market.

This episode showcased remarkable technological innovations that underscored the talent of Indians. Despite Rodbez having only a 10th-grade education, they managed to acquire knowledge from platforms like YouTube to design an application, demonstrating the founder’s unwavering dedication. Additionally, Blix presented an impressive new toy technology, poised to serve as a promising alternative for children overly reliant on smartphones.

The judges exhibited keen interest in this episode, offering insightful perspectives on the products and providing logical reasoning on how each startup could thrive in the market. Their evaluations shed light on which businesses held significant value and which ones may face challenges.  Ritesh Agarwal, the new shark, has undoubtedly demonstrated a keen interest in investing in companies. His active involvement with each participant showcased his deep engagement and understanding of the business landscape. The other sharks, too, consistently displayed their excellence throughout the process.
