Arthdal Chronicles Season 3: When and What to Expect of the Next Instalment of the Series?

Arthdal Chronicles season 2 brought us one of the best entertainers this year and while the wait for this sequel was long, it was definitely worth it all. From a beautiful transition 8 years after season 1 that brought a very strong vibe of maturity from the characters on the show, this season was exactly what we were looking for.

Arthdal Chronicles The Sword of Aramun (아라문의 검: 아스달 연대기) is the newest season of the historical fantasy Kdrama under the same name directed by Kim Kwang-shik. The show brought back the old cast along with many new faces including, Jang Dong-gun, Lee Joon-gi, Shin Sae-kyeong, Kim Ok-bin, Shin Joo-hwan, and Park Hae-joon alongside other cast members.

We have seen a few new faces this season, but the old faces did not fail to bring us the vibe we missed all this while back to the show. Our love-hate relationship with Tagon and Taealha continued this season and while it took some time to get used to the new faces of Eunseom and Tanya, the actors made sure to bring the feeling back to the best of their ability.

Now, with the end of this spectacular season, the talks of another instalment are taking over conversations everywhere and we know that with an ending like what we got, there is no way we won’t be getting another season. Arthdal Chronicles season 3 is more like an obvious thing that is sure to happen and we are now looking forward to news about the same.

Season 3 of the show is bound to bring in some amazing battles, another change the three heavenly objects are bound to bring, some sweet moments between Eunseom and Tanya, and more of Exo’s Suho as Prince Arok. With the list going on and on, here are some expectations we hold for season 3!

What to Expect from Arthdal Chronicles Season 3?

A Three-Way Battle

One of the biggest events of the upcoming season would be a three-way battle between Eunseom, Saya and Taealha. While the chance of Saya teaming up with one of these two people is high, there is also a chance that Taealha and Eunseom may have to get together to fight against Saya and the Neanthals who want to wreak havoc in all of Arthdal.

This is simply because Saya is no longer attached to Tanya (he probably knows she is alive through his dreams), and just wants Arthdal in ruins. Meanwhile, Taealha’s driving force is her promise to Tagon which will make her go to any extent to get what she wants.

The Bichwisan Pool

There is no doubt that this disaster created by Tagon is one of the most dangerous daggers stuck on Arthdal’s neck and is surely going to play a big part in the upcoming season. While Saya is the one who is most likely to make a move into opening up this disaster for Arthdal, we can never say if there’s another Tagon hidden among the people who are to show up in season 3.

History of the Ikomahis

The Ikomahis has been one of the biggest and most intriguing mysteries of season 2 and without a doubt, we want to know more about these two Neanthal brothers. A better representation of the past of the Neanthal brothers and also the connection between the Neanthal and the Children of Shahiti are bound to come along with this revelation which makes me really look forward to a strong storyline.

Rise of Neanthals

Another aspect that comes along with the incoming battles would be the rise of the Neanthals who will be the real focus of the next season. Be it the free Neanthals of Arth or the civilised Neanthals of Irkebaek, this season will bring a full-fledged war between these brothers of the past. This will include Eunseom and Saya who will become the present representation of the promised brothers, thus, bringing another past event to life.

Arok

The final person we are looking forward to playing a major role is Prince Arok who is now an adult capable of ruling Arthdal. We have known him as a child who has the pride of being a prince and sees the world no different from the way Tagon and Taealha do. Having finally grown up, I am intrigued by the person he has finally become after having spent years with his mother who has been preparing for revenge.

Bonus: Eunseom and Tanya’s Family

While everything until now covered a major part of the plot, there is no doubt that we are really looking forward to some sweet and lovely moments shared by Eunseom and Tanya. Hoping that they will have a proper family by the time they return, I am definitely looking forward to some healing moments in the intense plot.

When Will Arthdal Chronicles Season 3 Release?

While it is no surprise that an official notice about the renewal of the next season has not been released yet, the Arthdal Chronicles season 2 finale made it clear that the show is bound to return. This means that we can soon expect information about the same along with either a date or a trailer.

Furthermore, the show should release its third instalment by the end of 2024 or early 2025 and for that to happen, we should get some news very soon.
