Squid Game The Challenge Trailer: Major Trust Issues Come to Light When Millions-Worth Cash Prize is on the Line

Taking inspiration from the global phenomenon that was Hwang Dong-hyuk’s 2021 thriller K-drama Series on Netflix, the Squid Game The Challenge trailer has finally surfaced on October 23, 2023, a month before the upcoming reality competition series’ release date on the same streamer. Though all those sadistic fears to life, thankfully, this series won’t be a matter of life and death. The red suits are coming back and so is the Red Light, Green Light girl we remember as Young-hee who lived in our dreams rent-free for months after the South Korean series premiered two year ago, turning them all into dark nightmares.

Instilling a fear for the game’s song, the new trailer for reality series, which isn’t built on a deadly note, again pushes us to relive the fatal memories associated with the K-drama series starring Lee Jung-jae, Wi Ha-joon, Park Ha-seoon and others. Setting the player-count at 456, and the prize money at $4.56 million dollars (the largest cash prize in reality TV history), the series will make way for a 10-episode series on November 22, 2023 on Netflix.

With a cash-filled piggy bank hanging over the players’ dormitory, their eyes will quite literally always be on the prize, but since it’ll still be out of their reach, they’re likely to make the enemies in the unlikeliest places and people. As everyone’s true colours start showing, all the same games from the K-drama will make their comeback, with the set design also mirroring the show’s vision.

In this cut-throat competition, friendships will eventually take the back seat as the games begin. Yet at least we can thank the stars that players won’t actually be eliminated like they were in the thriller show. This time defeated players will simply be removed from the game, without introducing deadly consequences like death itself. It will require people to pull up with their hard-crafted strategies and also openly back-stab others when needed as per the game’s design. Filmed in the United Kingdom, the series sought English-speaking contestants from around the world, who together make for the largest cast in reality TV history.

Squid Game: The Challenge has got numerous executive producers pitching in for the series including, Nicola Brown, Tim Harcourt, John Hay, Toni Ireland, Stephen Lambert, Anna Kidd and others, all working under the banner of co-producing independent companies Studio Lambert and The Garden.
