Strong Girl Nam-soon Episode 4 Recap and Review: The famous hit South Korean drama Strong Woman Do Bong-soon (힘쎈여자 도봉순) spin-off series Strong Girl Nam-soon (힘쎈여자 강남순) of the is directed by Kim Jung-Sik and written by Baek Mi-Kyeong. Starring Lee Yoo-mi, Kim Jung-eun, Kim Hae-sook, Ong Seong-wu and Byeon Woo-seok in the lead roles, the series will follow a young girl named Nam-soon and her immense strength being used for the good. The series is produced by JTBC and is distributed by Netflix.
The series takes up the story of Bong-soon’s sixth cousin, Kang Nam-soon (Lee Yoo-mi) who has similar strength to her cousin. After getting lost in Magnolia, Nam-soon returns to South Korea to find her family. She successfully finds her mother (Kim Jung-eun) and grandmother (Kim Hae-sook) but little does she know, the trio are in for a big treat.
Lee Yoo-mi made it big after her pivotal role in Squid Game (2021). She was last seen in All of Us Are Dead (2022). Kim Jung-eun’s last ventures are Missing: The Other Side (2020-2023) and DNA Mate (since 2022). Kim Hae-sook’s latest work was Revenant (2023). Speaking of Ong Seong-wu, he was last seen in the movie Starlight Falls (2023) while Byeon Woo-seok’s latest project was Soulmate (2023).

Strong Girl Nam-soon Episode 4 Recap
Nam-soon gets saved by her mother, Geum-ju, and the two reunite. Geum-ju takes her to their home where she is warmly hugged by her grandmother Joong-gan. Previously, Geum-ju decided to help everyone who had helped Nam-soon. She starts with her two vagrant friends by giving them 200 million won each, access to a five-star hotel, and more. Geum-ju thanks Hee-sik for his efforts and says that she will stop by his place to collect Nam-soon’s things.
Bong-go arrives at Geum-ju’s house and looks at his daughter. He feels happy since he did recognise her priorly. The two share a wholesome hug and Nam-soon also hugs her twin brother. Hwa-ja who escaped before Nam-soon’s arrival stays low-key as the police are in search of her for fraudery. That night, Nam-soon calls her Mongolian parents and gives them all the updates.
The following day, Joong-gan takes her son Geum-Dong to the hospital. Over there she meets a beautiful doctor and wishes she could take her son’s hand in marriage. Geum-ju, Bong-do, Nam-soon, and Nam-in have a family dinner and take a family picture. Later at a golf practice area, Geum-ju receives a hint on drugs stashed at Doogo, the company of Ryu Shi-o. Shi-o on the other hand has already started gathering investors for his company and announces a delivery staff job, where he wants women especially to serve.
At the police station, Hee-sik’s head officer, Dong-suk who took a small taste of the drug starts showing symptoms, making fellow officers worry about him. He keeps chugging water and they don’t understand why. Hwa-ja gets a fake ID and joins work at Doogo as a delivery girl. That evening, Geum-ju stops by Hee-sik’s place to collect Nam-soon’s things. When she offers him money, his mother comes in and mistakes the scenario. She hits him for having a sugar mommy but Geum-ju clears the air and walks off. When Hee-sik’s mother checks the cheque with nine figures, her jaw drops.

Moreover, Geum-ju passes the information regarding Doogo to Hee-sik as he previously told her he’s in need of finding the mastermind behind the ongoing drug case. Nam-soon grabs lunch with Hee-sik where she persists that she will help in the drug case as she wants to help him and the people. They both agree to join Doogo as delivery staff. Nam-soon uses her strength to carry crates of items, baffling her coworkers.
Hwa-ja who is also working over there, finds Nam-soon and hides from her sight. That night Geum-ju rides her bike in pursuit of something while Nam-soon and Hee-sik break into the Doogo factory.
Strong Girl Nam-soon Episode 4 Review
This series is completely unique and fresh unlike the original. The original followed the life of an unemployed woman guarding a CEO and also finding a serial killer. However, in this series, the main plot which is the severe drug business has already been revealed. But, there is something up with Ryu Shi-o because he definitely isn’t a normal man. Does he have some powers too like Nam-soon? Because, by the looks of his confidence, there’s something fishy going on with him.
Episode 4 really gave all the necessary introductions and had a decent pace towards the main story. Now we know Nam-soon and Hee-sik are going to protect each other while Geum-ju will back them both up. Joong-gan is taking care of her son and has a love interest now but that doesn’t stop her from getting inside the drug mission. So far the series is interesting and it’s definitely distinctive.
