Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

Arthdal Chronicles The Sword of Aramun episode 10 “Whirlwind Fire” begins with Tagon and Eunseom going face to face on the battlefield and while Eunseom’s face shocks everyone, the fight goes on. Right then, Tagon remembers Saya’s last words about the real Aramun coming to them when his eyes fall on Kanmoreu and he tries to take the horse under his control.

However, Tagon fails to climb on Kanmoreu’s back and is thrown off after which he sees Eunseom easily get on the horse and shout orders of retreat to the Ago tribe army. However, Tachukan stays back in order to aid the retreat of his fellow soldiers. Tagon tries to follow Eunseom but is stopped, but he doesn’t stop thinking about Kanmoreu who is with the Inaishingi and not him.

Meanwhile, Nunbyeol and Chaeeun are wandering when they come across the Neanthal Issruv who takes them back with him. There they find Rottip missing and are told that he believes that the two brothers who had separated are now back and this is related to the Igutus that had chased Saya. Rottip has gone to someone who might know about them- Shahati.

They are then told about the Shahati and their history with the Neanthals, and how one of the two brothers promises to take revenge on the Shahatis. He tells them that Ikomahis means “Brother of Promise”. Another group of Neanthals and Igutus are also looking for the Ikomahis while Saya wakes up in a hut.

He finds out about what has happened in Arthdal and is asked to recuperate while Taealha tries to get information on what happened on the battlefield. Elsewhere, Tanya’s plan of pasting drawings of Aramun’s childhood around Arthdal is breeding results as she passes on another story for Moa to spread.

The drawings are recognised by Yeolson and other Wahan tribesmen who decide to not recognise what is happening. Mungtae, however, goes to a captured Bakryangpung and asks him if he is ready to accept Aramun who is also the Inaishingi. Elsewhere, Tagon has plans for the captured Ago soldiers but is not able to get rid of his obsession with the Aramun name that made him a legend.

Unable to bear this Yeonbal tells him that they follow Tagon for him and not because of his connection to Aramun. Later, Yeonbal arrives at the Ago tribe and passes on the news that the waterways have been blocked and Tagon wants to meet him the next day for negotiations. Eunseom accepts meeting Tagon the next day but notices some weird marks on the trees.

He then comes face to face with Tagon who tells him about his father who was a Neanthal warrior he had killed, this shakes Eunseom but he controls himself and reminds Tagon about his own father. Unable to instigate him further Tagon tells Eunseom that they have surrounded the Ago tribe and are willing to give them a chance to escape along with the men he captured in exchange for Suhana and Kanmoreu.

Eunseom scoffs at Tagon’s obsession with Aramun and is not ready to accept this exchange but Tagon tells him to think about it and meet him in two days. Later, a discussion about this takes place among the Ago warriors when Chomo rushes with confirmation to Eunseom’s suspicion, Tagon’s hidden agenda is to burn the forest and trap them in a sea of flames.

This shocks everyone present and they start discussing plans on how to escape this dire situation. Back in Arthdal, Taealha tricks Gilseon and the others and fakes an accident to escape from confinement. However, she finds out that Tanya had ordered someone to help her get out which intrigues her.

Later, she sees the pictures of Aramun’s story on the houses around Arthdal and understands that Tanya has a hidden agenda which makes her prepare her own plans. Meanwhile, Tanya is ready to shake the foundation of Arthdal now that Tagon and Taealha are not in the city. Eunseom tells Kanmoreu to return to him no matter what and also finds out about the relationship between Suhana and Tagon.

He then returns to his council and tells them of his plan to start a fire behind the Arthdal army before them so that they are in the way of the wind and will be harmed before they can begin a fire. However, he warns them that the people who leave to start the fire may not be able to return safely from this mission or get any backup help.

Tae Maja and Chomo prepare to leave for the mission and travel all the way to reach the area behind the enemy forces to implement the plan. However, they are caught by one of the soldiers and a fight breaks out while they try to carry on their mission. Elsewhere, Eunseom and Tagon arrive with the exchange and Tagon first asks for Kanmoreu in return for Tachukan.

Eunseom goes with it but when Tagon gets Kanmoreu, he tells Eunseom that he shouldn’t believe the enemy this easily before killing Kanmoreu right there. He then points his sword at the other Ago soldier, and while Mirusol tries to stop him by putting a knife against Suhana’s throat, he does not stop and the two are stabbed right there.

Eunseom is angered by this and heads to fight Tagon but the latter is pulled away to return and carry on with their plan. Eunseom too is pulled to return but he soon finds out that Tae Maja may have failed to light the fire. With no other choice left, he orders Ipsaeng to lead the army while he heads to start the fire.

Everyone is against this idea but Eunseom tells them to believe in him as there is no Inaishingi with the Ago people. Left with no choice, they accept his plan while Mirusol and Tachukan accompany him. They soon move forward and Tagon gets news of Eunseom heading towards them. He orders his men to capture him while they begin moving forward with the plan to light a fire.

Meanwhile, Tachukan blocks the soldiers coming in Eunseom’s way while he moves to their goal with Mirusol. There they see Tae Maja surrounded by enemy soldiers with a torch in his hand and try to finish the mission. However, Gitoha manages to stop them every time until Tae Maja walks towards the tree with oil spilt on it while heavily wounded.

Finally, Gitoha throws a spear at him but this does not stop Tae Maja as he lights the fire on his last breath. Overwhelmed by his sacrifice, Eunseom sheds tears for his friend after which he runs out with Mirusol. Meanwhile, the fire begins to spread with the help of the wind and soon engulfs the Arthdal soldiers.

Elsewhere, Tagon is ready to set fire to the forest when smoke surrounds them and he understands that a fire has been started behind them. The smoke arrives as hope for the Ago people while it induces fear among the Arthdal soldiers. The Ago people finally fight back the few soldiers following them with another trap while the Arthdal soldiers begin to run around due to the fire.

Tagon is shocked by this scene as he is surrounded by the fire like he once did to the Neanthal people. Right then a Whirlwind fire approaches them and brings us to the end of the episode.

Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 Episode 10 Review

First and foremost, Tagon has officially become the number 1 enemy to all after what he did to Kanmoreu; and while we are all hoping that the “real” Kanmoreu is still alive somewhere, well we can never say anything about the twists in this show. Tagon has really shown his deception talent in this episode and Eunseom has definitely learnt a good lesson today.

Meanwhile, Tanya is all set to bring havoc to Arthdal as she steps forward with full force on her very own battlefield. On the other hand, the Neanthal brothers, the Shahiti and the story of Ikomahis bring another kind of excitement of its own to the show and have me just as intrigued as I am by the main story.

Altogether, this was another wonderful weekend with Arthdal Chronicles The Sword of Aramoon and I cannot wait for the finale weekend that will bring this story to its final end.
